Mini vs Axe

Ok so my friend tells me over and over again that I need to get rid of my old mini and get an axe because it's so much better. But I love playing in tight to bunkers and the mini allows it a lot easier. I've also heard they rnt to much different from each other. Would it be worth it to switch

If your friend really thinks the Axe is that much better, then he doesnt really know what hes talking about...
The only differences are:

Size (opinionated)
Axe comes standard with relay on/off ASA
Axe has a microswitch instead of a magnetic return trigger which is on the mini (this is an opinionated difference here... i actually like the magnetic return trigger myself)

The bolt is the same, the board is the same, poppet is the same, reg is almost the same.

So for your friend to say the Axe is "so much better" is a little ridiculous. The only thing the mini lacks is an On/Off asa.

At this point, if you sold your mini to buy a new axe, you'd just lose a lot of money on it. If you like the ergo of the gun, then just buy a Relay on/off ASA. If you want to revamp the gun and find some new love... look into a new barrel (if you havnt already), and maybe upgrade the bolt.

The axe also has tool-less bolt removal.

You didn't mention it and I find it annoying to have to remove the rear grip screw to get to the bolt on a mini. I do agree with the sentiment that "upgrading" to an axe would be a waste of money. Get a boss/ eigenbolt (and remove the annoying grip screw to take it out), polish your v3 valve, get a NDZ on/off ~$30 or a used relay and play.

I was just bein sarcastic. I completely forgot about the tool-less bolt on the Axe. I dont really mind removing a screw to get to the bolt, anytime i do remove a bolt, i'm typically sitting at home with my allen keys right next to me anyway.

Either way, i still stand by the fact that an Axe isnt a huge upgrade from a mini.. If you're buying new, its obviously cheaper in the long run to just go with the axe at the start, but to take a loss on selling your mini to buy an axe doesnt justify the differences between the two.

My problem is I don't own a chrono, so most tuning is done at the field and that means if I have to take it apart for troubleshooting or whatever then I have to dig through my gearbag for alllen and hope I don't drop the screw.

There are enough mods (fore grip extender, nummech extender) that a mini can be made into an axe.

The axe is for guys that can't wrap their fingers around an inch smaller frame.

Keep the Mini! You will lose your shirt if you try and sell it or trade. If you were asking which marker to start with I would say an Axe because the upgrades in it pay for the difference.
