4Runner Windows Fog Up

So I noticed something unusual has been happening the past few days, my windshield and front windows have been fogging up more than normal. I recently patched a leak in the sunroof (just a small crack in the seal) but ever since there's been an increased buildup of moisture—usually after I've driven and then parked the vehicle for a period of time—accompanied by a fairly strong musty smell.

I'll throw in a couple of pictures for good measure because this seems more dense than your average window fog so I'm a little bit concerned about it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks fellas.

*All of these pictures were taken after driving home from class (5-6 minute drive) with the front windows rolled down, sunroof open and defroster on high set to cool. The windshield was much foggier when I left class than when I got home, it was covered about 70-75%.

Yeah, it was already dry. I parked it in the garage and let everything dry out overnight so there wasn't anything left by the time I sealed it.

You checked the headliner to make sure it was dry or assumed?

That's weird because the rain stopped a couple days ago and there's no standing water anywhere. I'll keep an eye out though I guess.

Dehumidifier in the front seat. Had to do that to a pickup I had once. Had the same problem as you.

Ok, just a few things to check. Make sure your leak is fixed. Check with hose. Then make sure you don't have water coming in from other areas. I had a toyota that had a poor floor pan and the carpets would get wet from the ground up. Then, you can check your air conditioner unit. Without a proper charge there will be no dehumidifiying via your defrost/air conditioning. GL and a portable dehumidifyer will certainly get the residual moisture out of the car, but if you still have a leak/seep your problem will return.

I don't know what to tell ya, there wasn't much water to begin with so it dried out fine in the garage.

Nah, old 4runners are awesome. You remember the ones that you could pull the top off of like the Broncos? Those rock.

Coincidentally, those are also great for rock crawling.

Ugly? Ascetics only matter if you're going to have sex with them. Their utility outweighs... well everything.

Yeah you're a prize.

Haven't had an issue with it lately, sealed a small weatherstripping crack in the sunroof with some silicon and it's been bone dry ever since.

Dehumidifier will be your friend, you still have water in the car even though you patched the leak. Think about it, how much water does it really take to fog up a window? Not much.

Also, couple friends down south would leave some silica desiccant in their cars to offset that in general. Might not be a bad idea if you live in a really humid climate.

Also, do not eat the desiccant.

Seems like a necessary warning.
