I you are not going to be racing it, then why not get a 4cyl or 6 cyl model. I think the 6cyl 4th gen cars are more than enough for a non-racing person. Then again, the 8cyl get's better average gas mileage tho. Go green and go with an LT1!

It's going to be hard to find a LT1 in decent shape. Plus parts start to get more expensive with genII and up engines.

if you only have 2 grand to spend, don't spend it on a camaro- any camaros you find for that are going to be beat to **** with at least somethign wrong with it. Get a cheap import or something you don't really care about so much as your first car. Plus you won't feel like an idiot when you put it into a tree

The OP is set on the idea of getting a Camaro, and he's only asking which one. He's not interested in consideration of any other make/model.

The problem here is we don't know the OP's experience working on or restoring cars. Providing him with different viewpoints and options is more reasonable than recommending a 20 year old Camaro you have little to no experience with. If he still buys a Camaro, that's cool. Nothing wrong with being excited about turning 16 and wanting a muscle car, I just hope he doesn't end up with a $2000 lawn ornament.

I bought a 3rd gen V6 from my boss when I was 17(7 years ago) for $1600.

It had 84k on the odo and looked great inside and out.

A year later it had a 383 stroker and a nice set of wheels. Sadly I hit a chunk of metal in the road and it blew my front right tire and bent my axle. I got it running again and then sold it. No other car was able to woo cornfed Indiana girls like that 3rd gen. I touched many pairs of tits in that car.

However that effect only works in backwoods places like Indiana. My boss was also trying to help me out and sold me the car very cheap.

If you are dead set on getting a camaro, then I hope you touch some titties and really get some use out of it. They are far from well built.....the car that is, hopefully the titties you encounter will be well built.
