No. This is NOT a Pyramid scheme or anything like that if that is what you are asking. However, we think that there are lots of paintball clubs and paintball teams that may want to do this to raise money for their club or team. That is something we can do.

Err, this seems questionable. A lot of people will see this as a great opportunity, which by all means it could be, but marketing is a whole different level. It's all about sales and quotas.

Alot of people like this sport, but how it grows varies. My guess is having friends join is probably the most popular way of how this sport grows. I began in 8th grade and only 3 of us paintball, I even got into it hearing from a friend. Another month goes by and we got a freaking army in the woods of all us kids running around. Anyway, continuing on, this seems like the job that you have to go to a store/field and talk to people about a certain product. Not many people will want to hear you blab about a product, even new people to the sport won't hear it. It's like working a pagoda station at the mall with perfume. You'll get very few who will bite at this.

Also, the commission won't be that great. This looks like a new company starting out and before they can even get their foot in the door they are asking you to help them with this, meaning low commision for you, while they get the benefit of the profit. Marketing (in this case) IS a pyramid scheme. The people on the bottom do the dirty while the people on the top rake it in. Picture an upside-down triangle, this is what most marketing companies will tell you what they are, but it's not because you are selling their product with.

Not only this, but the website makes you sign up before anymore details can be released, that shouldn't be how this works. You want a job where everything is laid out for you, not sign you up with an e-mail so they can keep sending you stuff.

This is my insight on this, some people may absolutely love this and will work out for them. That's ok, they are happy, but marketing is a tricky business to get into even if it's for the sport you love.

Actually the commission is really good. And yes, friends getting friends to play is how many of us got involved in the sport. The reality is that is what the sport needs more of. For years the industry has told players that they "need" to help the industry grow. Now, we've given you an incentive to do so.

Sales or marketing..whatever you want to call it can be easy or hard depending on who you are and what you are selling. Certainly selling a product that you believe in that gets people interested in a sport that you love is a far easier task than selling something that you could care less about.

Those that are successful can make good money and gain valuable work experience and training.

Heat shooting whatever your latest vibe incarnation is seems like a better idea.

Or at least more amusing for me. That would be worth paying for the webcast.

I surely hope this helps out growing the sport!

But I would have preferred that I wasn't feeling
so weird about it. First of all, coming from GoG
already puts me on the defensive. The fact that
I have to give my info before anything is briefly
presented to me feels shady. Doesn't GoG have
any reps willing to put their name on this? What
is the need of creating a screen name just to do
this? Reminds me quite frankly of the "Audrey"
incident that SP and DLX tried to pull on us back
when. But again, hope it help us grow as a sport.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
If you have questions, please post them in the Talk to Mods/Admins forum.
