You ability to cut the subject from the background is lacking and is sloppy at best.All your work looks very cut and paste, there is not even an attempt to blend into the background. Why don't you feather the selection a little and get a better blend. For that matter, take a little time and don't be so sloppy in your selections.It looks like some one with the shakes tried to use the lasso tool for the selections.
What is with the black outline in that first picture,are you trying to cover up that you cant cut the subject out well? The cropping on the picture is horrid. Having the hopper,barrel tip, foot and shoulder right at the border of the picture is causing to much tension. Why is the "HK logo" cropped off? Why is your signature so big...it detracts from any sort of design you may have had.
Use those filters a little less. They only go to show that you have to rely on pre-built effects rather then talent to make a interesting design. One dead giveaway of an unexperienced Photoshop user is the overuse and reliance on stock filters. Try cutting back on the filters, and try to do some real design work instead.
The fonts on the Glamour cover are flat out bad. Ever hear of anti aliasing?? Your backgrounds are boring and pedestrian on all of your posted works.
Its very obvious that you have used Photoshop for only a short amount of time. You seem the lack any real understanding of what the program can do, and seem to lack the talent to use it well. My guess is you know little about the principles of design and have never taken a real design class before.
Your what, 18 years old?. So I ll cut you some slack because your young and haven't had a chance to develop any talent yet.Just because you know how to use the most basic functions of Photoshop does not mean you have any sense of design. Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but you don't have any sense of design,well, not yet anyhow.
Look at some professional Photoshop work, then look at yours and be honest with yourself,if you are,then by your own decree of "Don't post in here if you suck",you shouldn't be posting.
Keep working on it, and I am sure you will get better in time.Think about taking some real design classes, it would improve your work a lot. Take the time to not just learn the program, but how to use it well. Your young and still have time to learn if you really have any talent.
