Head broken off of feathertouch screw, what do I do?

(long short)
the feather touch screw is in the threads in the solenoid but the head is not attached any more what do I do.

(the back story.)

I recently purchased a luxe 2.0 from ans gear, I ordered a nice orange blue splash se anno, paid extra for it. I recieved electric crush. now rather than have to pay shipping and duty fees I decided to just keep it. I figured it would grow on me and I need it for nationals on the 25th of Jan.

Now the first time i really go shoot it it seemed alittle loud and not too smooth, I thought it was that it was bnib and a little tight still but after a couple bags I went home a little baffled. When I got home I opened up the grip and I thought Id look at the feather touch screw make sure it was in.
when i looked close no head on screw and the hole was filled then I found the head of the screw stuck to grip frame because of trigger magnet, screw is still in solenoid.

I really need help with this one guys. Can I still use it for nationals? Do I just bite the bullet and send it to luxe and get the right one? I dont want to deal with anus gear. they are terrible.

Try calling DLX and see what they say. I doubt they'll send a new solenoid without seeing that one first, but they may surprise you. ANS gear wont help you, they're just going to tell you to contact DLX (but thats what you should be doing anyways)

Itll work fine the way it is if you have to use it. IF the FT screw threads are still in there, it should still be slowing the bolt some.
If its loud you need to be adjusting the manifold screw anyways, but I would leave it alone until you get it broken in.

Should only need a new manifold not a whole new solenoid. And of course a new FT screw.

go to hardware store and get a screw remover kit. Basically you screw a reverse threaded screw into the broken screw so when you back that screw out it pulls the broken one with it.

If there's any sort of head on it (a ledge, or lip of metal really) you can attempt to use a small flathead and back it out. The feathertouch screw SHOULD be easy since there's no sort of thread locker on it, and the oring on the head is what's used to keep it in place.

If you don't want to deal with manufactorer and such you could replace just the feathertouch and put the old noid on the new feathertouch mani.

But I would contact dlx and see what you can get from them, say it's literally brand new with 2-5 bags through it and came that way.

well I contacted DLX and they are sending me a new manifold and screw, it took one minute and eighteen seconds on the phone to solve the problem, great customer service. I just had to email them my address.
I will be able to use the gun as is for nationals they told me it wouldnt hurt the gun but I may experiance a little louder shot until i replace the manifold.

Cheers to DLX, makers of (in my opinion) the most beautifull and luxurious paintball markers on the market.

And thanks to all of you for your help with this issue.

Now I cant wait to go and get me sum G's

I've had the same thing happen to me. I replaced the manifold in a matter of 10 mins. Really easy! It's a small aluminum piece that sits on the manifold. A couple of small screws later, problem solved!

The same happened to mine recently but it broke off in the feather touch screw storage part and not in the manifold. I think I will call dlx and see what they suggest.

luxe will probably just send you a new screw that should be all you need. or buy one they are 2.50 or so.

Luxe customer support is really good just the 866 number on their site doesnt work the other number does though. or just email tech@luxepaintball.com

QUICK FIX for this issue.

Use an O-ring pick to unscrew the feather touch screw with the head broken off. It is not actually tight so you should be able to back it out easily. It did the trick for me. If all else fails call DLX they have supreme customer service reports.

This is what I did. I finally learned to only snug the FT screw after breaking 2 FT screws

There is a small oring right underneath the head of the screw - As long as the broken screw is still screwed in with the oring on it, it'll still work as if the screw wasn't broken.

But you might as well ask DLX if they can send you a screw, or buy them online (Only a couple bucks)
