Just to clarify for everyone:
The chrono ref at each field is responsible for checking trigger bounce before guns get on the field.
The robot is responsible for checking that guns are not using illegal modes (ramping shots, ramping dwell, adding shots, etc.). This goes beyond bounce... any gun that shoots other than true semi-auto (one pull = one shot) is illegal. That's why if 30 pulls produces 34 shots, the team is DQ'd. It's not the bounce, it's the extra shots.
If a ref suspects a gun is not legal during play, they'll test it on the field after the game. If it's bounce, the player is usually warned to turn it down. If it feels like it's adding shots or such, it's sent to the robot.
