Seriously considering getting this instead of another Subaru. Only worry is being close enough to Houston that it's not entirely unheard of for cars to get stolen here..
My first business with it would be dropping that tacky hood and getting some good seats. Now, I don't know **** about Hondas, don't they come factory with a back seat? I would definitely be putting one back in for sure.

I personally love the 95 Hatch. As for the car you posted, it does look extremely clean. That itself tells you something about the owner. It does not look like any shortcuts were taken at all. From what you said, you should be able to tell if its mechanically sound (I know you do tons of work on your Saab).
As for trading from the AWD:
For you, I think its worth it. You currently reside in East Texas, where there probably isn't any snow at all (please correct me if i'm wrong). The 4 doors are nice, but the hatch allows for storage (moreso than a 4 door due to folding back seats). Another thing to look at would be insurance. I believe you are in your early 20s or late teens. Insurance on aWRX/STi would be exponentially higher than that of a mid 90s Honda.
In the end, it doesn't matter what we say on a forum. Most of us are people you've never met, and are never going to meet. It all comes down to what you like as a driver. Keep us updated on your decision, because i'm actually interested in the route you go.
Yeah, we only see snow like once every 4 or 5 years. The biggest thing about AWD is all the dirt roads around here and the fact that the mile long dirt road to my house gets very, very slipper when it rains. We don't have a driveway built at my house yet, either, and my car is the only one that can get in and out other than our tractor.
Also, insurance on Hondas is quite high, especially in the immediate Houston area because of how many speeding tickets/wrecks happen in them and because of how often they get stolen. My insurance rates would probably be about the same, not that I pay it..
I know we could do the work on a Honda, which is part of my appeal for them. I would really like to learn to wrench on cars better than I can now and I feel I could do that on a Honda quite easily, seeing as there is like nothing in that engine bay.
