Dow?
Would a bob long gun's performance be affected very much if I didn't use DOW lube?

All lube is dow lube.
If you mean by dow 55?
anything other than dow 55 voids any warranty from blast, I've heard of people lubing for the first time using dow 55 to swell the o-rings then After they swell them they start using 33. such as sleek, But I Would just stick to dow 55.

Not all lube is dow... dow corning is a brand. Dow55 and dow33 are common lubes in the paintball community. I stick to Dow55 where it's recommended because it swells orings.

What are you thinking about using? I wouldn't use anything other than Dow 55, Dow 33, or Virtue SynSpeed V12 (Virtue's Dow 55 with some additives) and would personally just purchase the correct lube for the gun. I was able to purchase a 5.3 ounce tube of Dow 55(literally enough to last forever) for around 13 bucks so its both economically and performance wise a better way to go. Some people use Dow 55 initially and then lube the guns with Dow 33 after that. I definitely don't recommend using any of the other niche lube manufacturers like TechT Gunsav, Hater, etc. in your Bob Long gun.
Dow 55 is what the manufacturer recommends as it creates swelling on the O-rings and also lengthens the life of the O-rings. The tolerances are built around these O-rings swelling so without Dow 55, there is a chance that the O-rings won't seal as well.

Dow refers to the properties of the lube. no matter if they say it's not dow, it's still dow.
Hatersauce is dow 33 synthetic.
Pe, dye, And smart parts all just rename their lube, Which comes from the dow corning company.

No it doesn't...
Dow is short for Dow Corning, the company that makes the lubes. The real name for Dow55 is MOLYKOTEŽ 55 O-RING GREASE made by Dow Corning.
You should really stop giving out false information...

Dow DC 55, Molykote 55 O-ring grease, etc...
You can easily buy a 5.3 oz tube for around $20 online. The cheapest places I've found it is hobby websites. I don't know where the guy above me got it for $13, he was pretty lucky. I'm unsure of where you could get it locally in Canada.
I think the cheapest paintball place to get Dow 55 and Triflow is macrolineguy. A bottle or Triflow and 1oz of Dow55 is only $5 each and shipping is usually only a few bucks.

Really? I didn't know that. I used to buy my slick honey from bike shops all the time. It's also funny because the owner of Left Coast PB tried to convince me that $10 for a good deal for a bottle of Triflow.

Triflow is a bike chain lubricant with teflon in it. I've been working the same bottle for like 6 years at least, if not more. It lasts for sure.

You can also get Dow to send you a free 5.3oz tube of any of their lube. All you need is a non-personal email address and a good enough reason that would justify a 'sample'. For example, you could tell them you run a business that has a lot of a freezers, and you need a lube that can stand up to the temps.

Mine was purchased at a Grainger store locally in the United States. As far as Triflow goes, it is excellent stuff. I probably won't go back to another non PTFE oil for my paint shooters. Cheap, and works great.

I've used Hater Marmalade for a long time in my Gen5s. I do have a tube of DOW 55 now, but leave it at home. The Marmalade goes in my field bag, if I need a bit of lube, I use it.
I still find it entertaining when people freak out about non DOW 55 use. Seemingly the marker should implode and send itself to another dimension if on DOW 55 is brought within a few feet of it, with how these people react.

That's a heck of a deal. I had read that Graingers carried it but there isn't one close to me. That just shows ya how much paintball companies make off rebanding Dows products.

How about you don't lie to get free samples of products.

Wow, that's pretty hostile coming from a mod. If you read post #9 you'll see that I originally suggested that people pay for their Dow 55 and even mentioned that it could be had for a lot cheaper from non-pb sources. I was just replying to the guy that gets his Dow33/55 for free from his work. Maybe you should also tell him not to take stuff from his work while you're at it?

It's not hostile. It's sound advice. No reason to fabricate something untrue to get free product.
Especially considering we as paintballers are supposed to support either our favorite/local brick-n-mortar stores or our favorite e-tailers.
