Cost to get back into the sport?

The last time I played paintball was when I was 16, I am 20 now. I am thinking about getting back into the sport semi seriously. What would it cost for gear these days? Such as a semi cheap electronic gun (or maybe play pump??), hopper, tank, mask, and apparel. When I was playing I had a Vlocity and it was the meanest baddest hopper on the market at that time. What hoppers are popular now and how much for a used one? What is a decent gun that I could get for relatively cheap? Sft shocker maybe? What else it out there? Any general info regarding costs of starting back up again is appreciated. Thanks fellas.

Browse b/s/t for set a price limit and buy. You can usually grab package deals on some of the low to mid range guns. (Gun tank hopper for 300-400) grab a mask for 50, pack and pods for 30-50. What else do you need? Pants and jersey less than 100 on some older gear.

Get a used invert mini $175-$250
Used tank in hydro $80-$120
Used halo too or prophecy $60-$100
A flex $40-$60
That should be a good set up if your getting back into the game son. Then you can upgrade and get new gear if you want to keep ballin

Ansgear.com has some really cheap 68/45 and 48/45 tanks now. I think like $110 brand new

I got all my stuff off the WTB thread

DP FX with ups in great condition $295
V3 Rotor in perfect shape $100
Ninja tank 68/45 awesome shape $95
Used Grillz $45
Pads, Jersey and Pants $210 (All brand new)

$535 plus my gear... I sold all my RC stuff to get back unto paintball. I would say depending on marker, hopper and tank $400-$540??? I've been back at it for over a month and I'm having a blast!

That sounds do able... Just thinking off the top of my head of what I spent... I got some money out of RC car stuff so it helped a lot. If not I would have gone cheaper route

Depends on how deep your pockets are, what you want to play, how often you're going to play, if you have any gear left over, and what kind of gear you would like......

I had a lot of high quality older gear leftover, so it only cost me under $200 to get back in by the time I bought some rebuild kits, lube, rehydro a tank, and some other odds and ends such as batteries, allens, tape, pretty much my "paintball tool box". But that was the deal with my wife, "get your old **** working, see if you like it, then if you like it, go crazy." Which for the record I went bat **** crazy and my pocketbook felt it.

I'd say if I were to build a gear bag for someone, I'd be able to do it under $600. Starting with nothing.

If you want to be the annoying dude at the field with a setup that has no tools to fix anything himself and always borrowing other peoples ****. ....you could do it for under 400

Cheap packages new better than used products

Me and my friends use wavetogo.com for the best deals. They have hundreds of combos with almost every gun for you to choose. So there are all sorts of prices and combinations! I think it is better to get a new set for yourself, but read reviews of whatever you are thinking of buying. Because buying used stuff, you might get gipped and most likely wont have warranty or customer help. The cheapest ones i can think of on top of my head are the Spyder packages for around $80 for gun, tank, oil, and squeegee. check it out! Good luck!

Though if you buy new, you have to break in the reg. That usually means about a case of paint. You can also get an idea of how the marker performs over time and how it holds up to use over some period of time.

If you're still looking I have a mini for sale and a proto axis that just needs a new lens. I might be willing to sell my 68/4500 with it as well. Only other thing you would need is a hopper.
