do you want somebody to knock on your door if they do a recall and you aren't at work? You need to have some way for them to be able to get in contact with you by voice. One of my MSgts practically wears a foil hat and only has a landline and an answering machine. If you don't want to pay for a cell plan bundle your phone, internet and cable or something.

Crane, there's a waiver for everything. One of the SSgts in my SQ got caught up in the DOS rollbacks and they do have a process to get it overturned/appealed.

Like calling somebody on shift or the Director of Operations at almost 10PM.

Every squadron has a comm out recall. No one is required to have a phone line period. If you are required due to your job/whatnot, your squadron must issue you said phone.

true, but if I have to send somebody to your door when the phones still work I'm not gonna be very happy

Yeah. I'm stoked. I'm currently awaiting notification on whether or not they are going to fund the military photojournalism school at syracuse this year. Basically I get paid to be a civilian going to college for a year. I was 1 of 4 selected this year which is a very prestigious assignment for us. But if funding isn't there I am glad I have a sweet backup. I am hoping to get out and travel a lot.

Wow, what a ****ty situation to be in. I highly recommend a Med cruise to see a lot of sites on the cheap and still have a great time. Wife an I did it when we were in England. France, Spain, Italy, and Sicily. It was great. Favorite trip though was Rome. You can easily spend 3-4 days in Rome and still not see everything.

Well unfortunately Lt no one can make me get a phone. It's that simple. In Korea not everyone has phones. I've walked door to door to find people. It happens. Also know what anyone can do if I don't answer my phone all weekend? Not a damn thing.
