the issue you are having has nothing to do with the Virtue board (REdf or Oled) and the L7, that will cause the bolt to stay forward and a loud hsssshhh of air passing until it gets back to position.

My guess is the reg needs to be serviced it sounds like air is struggling to reach the marker at normal operation levels so either his reg is bad or the air tank is not nearly giving out enough pressure

Every marker is different , the L7 should be able to lower the OP bettwen 140-165 with a stock breech / can / frame. IŽve heard some have lowered to 90 psi with an Element V2 frame and other aftermarket ups.
I can tell you that the QEV in this case does not make a differ in the OP.
OP has to do with air volume only.

IŽll put back everything stock (i donŽt like the shockted or whatever the name of that body is) leave the L7 in and start tunning

So is the qev simply there to drop the dwell then? And would the epiphany frame grant a drop in op?

With such a low OP the tank should not be the problem, however, it could be ruled out in the testing part.
It could be the reg not been properly set , he might be screwing it the wrong way , Im not sure. I can tell that the adjustment screw of the Hyper 3 is ussually 3 turns in to make it work, after that he needs to look at the OP and start testing what works and what donŽt

IŽll service the reg first as you said, check orings and lube acording

He was saying he has his op at about 200 so its defiantly not low lol for the life of me I can't think of a reason why it would have to be so high to even seal though my hyper three on my ion seals at 90 psi but how barely sealed at 200 and even then he isn't getting a good velocity it has to be a reg problem

QEV will let you vent air pressure out while on the shooting cycle, allowing you to reduce the total time of the cycle it self therefore been able to reduce dwell (otherwise with a lower cycle time and higher dwell youŽllbe wasting air)
AS for the epi frame, I had one on my Nt (best frame fit for me) and it make much difference.
my lowest OP was when i use a techt sleeper body with HUGE air volume, I think i was running OP at 125-130, but it was tooooo heavy. I went back to the non BOB alum body with stock breech and cann and OP went up to 155-60, never looked back until I sold it. Never had leak issues, just the darn virtue redf or oled / L7 thing

I'm running stock breach can combo with a l7 right now on a dwell of 16 need to drop it to about 12 since I have a 360 web as well but I need to mess with my op I'm at 120 right now but I know I'll need to increase it to at least 140 if not more picking up a ndz can will help though now if only I could find a decent trigger that fits my epiphany frame

I've serviced it before. But the only problem I had was trying to remove the bottom cap.

No need to drop it down that much 14 is perfect , lower than that is to much of a brag and you wont be that consistent over the chrono.
Get the 360 and lower to 14, believe me , with a hyper 3 well maintained and broken in, that beauty can shoot 12 pods like a charm, IŽve shoot 13-14 pods out of a 68/4500 fill.

Trigger wise, hmmmm, I had to customize mine to make it fit the frame, i sanded it down at the bottom, hereŽs a pic , not sure the brand I think NDZ or something, but didnŽt had any side to side (it was deannoed by me)

Sirriko, this was my set up (broken down lol) back in Jan 2012, i think the only change was the 360 QEV instead of the virtue QEV

Okay thanks guys I'll try to lower the pressure later this afternoon when I have time, and I'll keep you up to date. Does anyone have any tips on how to take off that bottom cap of the reg.

And just to note i just realized that the Sith Frame i have has no metal mesh where the regulator screws in for filtration but the stock frame has one. Would this make a difference?

Filter is just to avoid metal debris of any kind, can run it without but good to have

On the cap, hex wrenches you need are 3/8" for the top cap and 5/16" for the bottom cap, you can use dish washer glove that is dry to get good grip on the middle to take it apart.

Yea i know the sizes, its just that evertime a try to take the bottom cap (even with what people say to do as a quick snap), the top one always comes off. I'll give the dishwasher gloves a try since i already tried with my strap wrench and it didn't go to well....

UPDATE:

I did a full maintenance on the regulator and the gun itself. I checked all fittings and all o-rings. And nothing much has changed :/.... And I also just found out then when i bottom out the air, the pressure gauge stays at 150 even with no air in the reg (yes i bottomed it out properly).
Could it just be my Ion is not compatible with the hyper 3 reg? maybe the pressure is too low or something
Any ideas? Maybe should I try the stock Reg?
