Need some opinions

So right now I'm shooting a 2011 Proto Rail, but I'm really not liking it as much as I used to so I am in debate of what my next gun is going to be. I play close to every week and going to be playing in my first tournament in March, and right now the 2 markers I'm torn between is the Etek4,or an Axe. There is a $50 difference at my local field, the Axebeing the cheaper one.

Does anyone have any ideas on which I should get? Or a marker within the 400-500 price range?

Choose what feels more comfortable. Go to the proshop and try each out with an empty tank to see how they feel. In terms of performance, both markers are very reliable. I would stick with PE, but that is my opinion.

If you like the smoothness and quietness of your pmr, then get the axe. But if not then ask your field to let you try the etek in the chrono, they will be promoted to let you if you show them you are a serious buyer

I actually just got a puppy last week, so another one is out of the question... And in terms of preformance does either gun have anything in their favor that should help one choose between the two? I'm leaning towards the PE, but I head a few good things about the Axe from people who play at my field, same goes for the etek

The Axe is a great marker, but I'm more of a PE fan so I'd go with the Etek

Both are great choices. I prefer the etek though, having owned the two, the etek has been more reliable for me.

Im a fan of both these markers. Good ole poppet vs spool debate. You need to shoot both and see how they feel in your hands.

But the axe isn't a spool

They're both poppet markers.

I've owned an Axe since they were first released, and it's still going strong. I've shot an Etek before, and it was nowhere near as smooth or quiet (honestly they sound like ****ing CANNONS. Every single one i've heard) as my Axe.

I love PE markers but, I got a chance to shoot a guys etek a couple days ago, keep in mind it was just a little rope while he was tying his shoe. Snakesniper is right, it felt like a cannon.

With that being said, even though it was one little rope, I wouldn't purchase one. I used to have a axe and I can honestly say, I kind of miss it. I'm almost at the point where if I wasn't so wrapped up in these high ends I already own, I'd ditch one of them and pick up another axe. I'm one of the few though that will tell you to keep the stock bolt. Get both lurker barrels, dial down the pressure a little, sweet spot the back cap and just go play. It's a great gun and at $320 sealed on ebay, you won't find a better marker. I can also add to what the other poster said, warranty forever with no questions asked. I had to use it and thats how it worked for me too.

Oh and while you're at it, you might as well order the lurker lube along with the barrels. I tried several different kinds and that stuff was the bees knees.

Axe for sure. I love planet eclipse guns as well, having an ego 08, but the etek is a cannon, and the axe is a solid marker.

Try the markers if possible, i just used an Etek 4 over the weekend, and it is pretty loud. I thought it was weird, if you got a good bolt in it you could probably get less noise. from what i have heard the axe is quiet and pretty solid, but a little harder to get dialed in to what you want it to do
