Put simply, I feel like the teams are getting a bum deal here and I'm voicing my opinion to that effect. I believe that when someone is promised a prize for winning an event, they deserve to be paid if they win.
I realize your deal with Chuck may absolve you from the obligation to pay but as I stated before, I think it would be a grand gesture on your part to pay the teams and recoup the money from Chuck yourself.

Actually NEO as a whole was really really fun. Yes there were the normal, issues that every tourney has like bad calls, slow turnarounds but those things happen every where even locals. There was great communication great atmosphere for a small event. Great games especially people that bag on the pro teams in NPPL. Lets see Dynasty pounds on psp teams and wins em but loses first thing on Sunday morning two straight. That says a little bit about some of the teams. CP raiders are looking legit as hell in pro division! That being said my team podiumed this weekend D4 and the prize packages change to entry discount/free paint and we actually came out more ahead than if it was the cash prize. On top,of that a couple of my guys were short money Sunday afternoon for paint and Shawn let us use that free paint voucher that was supposed to be for a future event right on the spot!!!! From what I see he is doing his damn best to get this league going good again. FYI I want both leagues to prosper its just way better for the sport!!

Justtttttttt saying, I dont think your track record has proven to show youre quite logical.
Congrats to my boys on TCP Machine in d1 for the win, though. I dont care how many teams are in a division, it still takes a lot of skill to win any division.

Still just childish insults. I know, you're unable to debate my points like an adult, it's frustrating for you.

Solution: you pay the teams owed their prize money and stop losing teams and people's trust at an alarming rate.
There, you wanted the solution I gave it to you.
You took over a failing league who lost teams for not paying, wouldn't it make sense to get those teams back? I know damn well you aren't making money with 29 teams and never will so it would make much more sense to draw teams in not scare them off

It was a great event even with the pouring rain on Friday. I was happy with the event overall and 1st place was amazing! Entry and 20 cases of paint for Chicago was definitely a good prize and was awarded on the spot. Shawn personally told me that more teams had already signed up for Chicago than had attended the NEO. He has big goals for the NPPL and hope nothing but the best for the NPPL. I just want to know if the webcast is going to be up anywhere

So wait a second.. what you are trying to say is. That with the cost of entry now, you are ok with the prizes being free/paid entry to next event and 20 cases of paint? So when hb is first event ( best event) second is a field or in the boonies ( weakest event) you'd still play it? Can't it be paid entry for whatever event and 20 cases or prize money? Say, win hb.. then play Vegas for free? First and last event?

The entry can be used at any point and not necessarily the next event. The 20 cases of paint is nice and the option of cash or paint would have been even nicer. Not sure what we would have taken. I see the NPPL turning around and have high hope for 7 man

No I'm saying to get off because all he does is talk trash about NPPL which is a part of paintball. It's all one sport. It shouldn't be divided like it is. But then we have *******s like you and buck buck that split the sport. Which is pointless. Paintball is paintball. Doesn't matter what league

Easily the most idiotic comment on nation! That's like saying if you like pro sports you have to like college sports cause its the same. Comparing the image psp has made for itself to the **** fest that is nppl is an insult to everyone smarter than you, which is everyone

I noticed everyone hurries to beat down the NPPL but stay silent when they take a step in the right direction in lowering the entry fees. To me this is a sign that they are listening and taking some action.

Maybe Shawn will answer these questions,
Here's a business perspective to this whole thing. Before I get into it, I overlook a region of garages that is in excess of 80 million in annual sales, and we have a lot of accounts, and those accounts sometimes swap owners, go bankrupt etc. Than I have to collect from them in certain cases.
1. Did the NPPL go bankrupt on your current transaction of them. I don't want to know "they would have if I never stepped in", just want to know a yes or no to the question.
2. If you acquire a business, and operate as the same legal name can you legally walk away from your debt because you are the new owner/manager?
3. If the NPPL did not go bankrupt, why does the NPPL not have to pay the money it owes?

This is similar in a way to Vanguar. Bought outright, but it was well know they weren't responsible for their debts to people previous (including those who as much had guns in for service at the time). I could have legally been told to **** off but I got my stuff. I hope the same thing happens here, but with a bit more restructuring and growth. I liked playing 7 man,
I hope it's around again. But a good hard look at rebuilding yourself (and the multiple year period that comes with it) is required.

I think you need to consider what's going on, beyond what you've been told by one of many parties involved. To be more direct, what is the driving force behind the decision to lower the entry fees? Is it that the NPPL is listening and taking action, or is it that the attendance was low enough that core divisions were cancelled? Think for yourself. While buck may not have shared his opinion in the nicest way, he is correct in saying that a paraphrased version of Shawn's post is that outstanding debts aren't his problem, and they're moving away from giving purely cash prizes that can't be honored. While we're on the subject of sharing opinions, speaking negatively about a league is not trolling so long as it is backed with evidence and reasoning, not insults.
Take a step back and consider the situation from a neutral perspective. The NPPL has been struggling for a long time and suffered significant losses at its largest event. Gino (Valken) has already said that he paid for multiple sponsor spots just to keep the league afloat. Attendance, per Shawn's post in this thread, is at a record low. Teams are owed prize money.
That being said, there are two conclusions to draw from the facts. First, the NPPL is not getting anywhere close to survivable numbers. Second, the NPPL is attempting to bury its outstanding debt with a facelift to move forward. These are conclusions confirmed by Shawn in this very thread. They are not opinions, trolling, or insults. Moving along, this begs the question to Shawn:
What will you do to build a respectable reputation for the NPPL, resolve any outstanding disputes, and stabilize the league financially and attendance wise?
Shawn, I am genuinely interested in what you have to say explicitly. This is not a hostile question at all - merely an invitation for you to clear the air on your own terms.
