Today they had military personnel playing.... It wasn't the actual tournament per say, it was more so to test out their webcast and let military personnel have some fun.

yeah they have the commanders cup at almost every military base that has a field. they are usually limited to using tipmann 90's or something of the equivlent to make it fair for everybody. they had one here like that in korea back in the summer.

Everyone was using rental gear (Enemy's at Camp Pendleton I believe). But you could see the guys that had paintball experience. It was actually a fun event to watch, most of the teams played really well. Great to see our service men and women out there having a good time.

They only had like 30 teams? D2 iirc was 2 teams deep

Yea it looks a lot like a The Paintball Park tournament rather than a national event. Hey, they all gotta start somewhere. If Shawn can show that he can actually run a decent tournament then maybe more teams will start to show up. Especially if PSP continues to be sold out, maybe the APL can start to pick up some overflow and get a player base. They are both 5-man Race-To leagues now.

The Webcast was leaps and bounds about what the NPPL had done at their last couple events. Multiple cameras and lots of good angles. They said they would have 8 cameras on field for this weekend, they only had a couple operating yesterday, mainly stationary.
