I have seen many many questions about some of the things that will be included in this thread. Hopefully it will help "un-clutter" the desktop thread in here.
DOCKS
RocketDock - "RocketDock is a smoothly animated, alpha blended application launcher. It provides a nice clean interface to drop shortcuts on for easy access and organization. With each item completely customizable there is no end to what you can add and launch from the dock."
It can be seen in this image:
Basically its just a fancy task bar.
It can be found here:
www.rocketdock.com
Many people do not recognize it until they see the popular icons that are available for it. This is an example of what I'm talking about
:
You can get it here:

You can make these icons or find them online. There are many different variants. After you get the icons, you must change the setting on the dock so that the opacity is 0%. It will then just look like text floating in the air by itself.
There are also different kinds of docks. Personally I haven't had any experience with them so I can't tell you which is better and why. Hopefully someone in ST:T will be able to help.
They include:

RAINMETER
Rainmeter is a program that performs multiple tasks. It can display the weather forecast, your computer's speeds, etc.
An example of Rainmeter is:
You can download this program here:

A very good place to look for different skins is
www.customize.org. They offer many different types there.
The popular one going around now is the "HUD.Vision" skin.
An example is here:
RAINLENDAR
Rainlendar is basically just a calendar. It also has a "To do list" function as well.
An example of Rainlendar:
You can download this program here:

You can also find a ton of different skins for this at
www.customize.org.
CUSTOM XP THEMES
Okay, if you are running Windows XP you are in luck. You are able to change you Windows theme with ease. To do this go to
http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=308905 and grab the zip file. This is a patch that will allow custom themes to be downloaded onto your machine.
If that doesn't work, try this one:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...iPatcher.shtml
Open the ZIP, run the program, and you are now able to use custom themes. Like I have stated numerous times, visit
www.customize.org and you will find many different themes.
Some examples are:
Now to actually get the theme installed, you open the ZIP provided for the themes and find the .msstyles file and double click on it. Your XP Themes Menu will open and it will ask if you would like to apply the theme.
Dont forget to add the fonts as well, or it won't look correct. To do this, open the ZIP once again, find the fonts in the folders and extract them to the fonts folder on your machine. Generally it goes something like this:
My Computer > Local Disk > WINDOWS > Fonts if I remember correctly.
I'm sure that I have missed a ton of different things that can be added to this list, but as of right now this is what I know. Like I said before, hopefully people will be kind and add things in.
