GT oled screen question

Is there a life expectancy on the screens to expect? Seems like the majority of my screen is already fading, with some pixels already completely gone....
Just wondering because if I'm going to have to replace the screen every 6 months I may just buy a Virtue board.

There was a run of screens that had an issue of prematurely going out but I've been told that issue has been taken care of and that the screens going forward should have the same reliability that they used to. They definitely should not be going out every 6 months now that the issue is fixed.

your gt should be under warranty also. only cost would be to ship the entire gun. (which honestly there and back is basically same price as buying it yourself and putting it in)

I bought the gun 2nd hand shortly after the release. According to the manual the warranty only covers the original purchaser. Which I think is a shame because other manufactures still warranty their products.
Even if it were the case, at $30, its worth it to me to replace it myself than hassle sending it in. Just wanted to make sure the replacement screen is going to be more reliable

This screen issues is clearly a defect and should cover even second or third owners.

I had my screen go out within a month and I used the gun 2 times. The dealer took care of it but thats not the point....defective screens should be replaced free of charge. (even if you arent the original owner)

It's not the same monitor. This a Type B, those are type A on early VX but the RX was an A screen.

When you go to order one on the website I thought there was only one option?

Have they fixed this issue?

Whats funny about this thread is I just went to turn on my gt and the screen is half bright and half dim. This will be my 3rd LCD screen in 6 months. Do you have updated ones?

(If so Ill just send the screen to you)

Now their is only one option since the early production of the VX.

You can't send the screen only. The entire marker must come in with a copy of the purchase receipt showing you are original owner.

If this is your third in 6months which is UN heard of out of 2000 GT produced to date. Maybe you are the special one? We prob need to test the board to see if it is the cause of you short life of the monitors.

Im sure there are others that are just buying a board rather than shipping an entire marker out. With how quickly guns change hands there is no way you guys can keep track of it. Plus this has been brought up many times so its clearly a defect.

Who wants to pay shipping both ways on a whole gun when its just the screen/board? Just seems unnecessary. I guess thats one way to get people to buy a board and save time/money. Kinda makes the warranty irrelevant.

Other than that the gun is great.

If its warranty you only pay to ship in, Macdev pays for return shipping. This is why we ask for purchase receipt so verify a new purchased marker per our policy. It's not irrelevant if you have a warranty, but if you don't have a valid warranty then no need to ship it in you can purchase the parts and replace yourself.

We have since received a new batch from the manufacture. Which they have said that we should not see this issue happen any more.
It's electronic, stuff happens but we have to go with what the manufacture says. We have not had them long enough to say Yes all monitors being sold or warranted that come direct from us are 100% no issues. As of yet no problems, Florida office and myself are the only one with new monitors.

I took my Clone GT out of the box after not using for about three months to be surprised by the same issue. Based on my previous experience sending the marker in, it was simply cheaper to purchase a new screen. The screen literally just plugs into place. No soldering required.

I am happy to hear that the quality issue should be hashed out now.

Would love to see macdev step up and replace these free of charge regardless of ownership. Its clearly a defect.

Also they should have a way to register markers so you arent running around looking for a receipt.
