what makes you say that? Dye has repeatedly said they won't design it like that for tech reasons.
I'd love nothing more than the dm14 to have air through the frame, but doubt we're close to seeing it, unfortunately.

Air-thru frame isn't even an upgrade, no effect on performance and isn't innovative at all.

So you prefer macro line and fittings? How about no.
Doesn't effect anything sure... neither does a sick ano, but people still love that.

It's quick, easy and cheap to replace macro-line and doesn't affect how I hold the marker so yes, I do. Macro-less designs is a fad that doesn't really do anything. I'd rather have a sick tequila sunrise or tri-fade anno than no macro-line.
Then again, I wouldn't put it past DYE to make a Matrix without macro and no actual changes and just slap 2014 on it.

So you are saying... if dye gave you the option of how the dm14 shipped to your door (either with or without macroline and fittings), at the same price point... you would choose to have the macroline?
I just don't believe that. Say it's a fad or whatever... but if you had the option there is really no debate that it's cleaner, more ergonomic, less **** to deal with. period.
I could see them changing that one thing and offering it as the latest and greatest as well, no argument there.

Honestly yeah, I can say that I'd prefer it that way. I see no need for paintball markers to go that direction. Granted, some look good but then again, I don't and probably never will own them. I have no problem with macro and would much rather have a company try to actually improve their marker or next platform in some way instead of figuring out how to get the air to go through the frame, to the reg, and back again. It's serves no purpose.
It's why I have a VX'd Clone, not a GT and I certainly hope the next borg isn't macro-less.

The answer is not as black and white as your saying. It is wrong to say there is less *** to deal with. The guns that are macroless actually have more things to worry about. With a macroline, everything is external and if you ever have a problem, just change the macroline that can be found anywhere and you are good to go. Guns with a macroless design have internal seals and if those fail, it is a lot harder to fix.
Some things are different just for the sake of being different, but honestly there is no performance reason to have a macroless gun.

Clearly you like the politics more than the function. Paintball has been that way since the beginning, small improvements every year with a higher price tag.

Never said there was a performance gain. I said what I meant.
And macroless design isn't as complicated as you're saying. There are guns at almost half the price point as a new dm that have no macro.
Have yet to see any failures of seals anyways.
I'd say it's personal preference, but I still believe 99% would choose no macro and fittings if it was a free option...

Nothing about politics and the function doesn't change. I just don't think companies should focus on macro-less designs over actual improvements to actual ergonomics(grips, frames, reg/frame spacing), efficiency, ease of maintenance, etc.
I agree 99%( ) that it's personal preference. Obviously you like to see manufacturers go that route and I'd rather them make improvements to the areas mentioned above.

I'd love to see actual improvements... definitely. I could list 10 things I'd like to see different other than macro being deleted.
I personally think macroless should be standard nowadays. But I know that isn't the case and won't be for a while.

My only question here is why are we all still talking about a gun that was irrelevant and inferior before it was even released and has been for the last 5 years?

Actually The DM4 was the same price as the DM13, so not sure what you mean by a higher price tag.
And what does price have to do with macroless design? I was refering to what you said about having a more simple design but really has a more complicated design than an external macroline.
