Not trolling at all, just mean this as a little bit of help:
Just above the search bar in the top right corner there is a list of your total PM's and new PM's. A yellow dot appears in the corner when you have a new PM that you haven't read yet.
You can also subscribe to a thread using the Thread Tools drop down bar located in every thread and have an email sent to you every time somebody posts in the thread that you have subscribed to. You can also look at all the threads you are subscribed to in your User CP area.
Having a notification-like message is a good idea and would be nice and might save a little bit of time, but i don't think it would be worth the coding effort for something that is pretty readily available already.
