++Lifting high weight/low reps is for mass
Depending on the protocol you utilize during training, you can influence what kind of progress you make. However, despite what that same friend and know-nothing trainer told you, lifting heavy weight with low reps won't pack slabs of muscle on you like those "freaky bodybuilders". In fact, professional bodybuilders tend to favor routines that involve higher reps, somewhere in the range of 10-15 reps per set. This has, for many years now, been a staple in the bodybuilding world. Low reps with high weights tends to demand more from nervous system, and much of the progress made using this sort of system comes in the form of strength, and less size.

The only thing I have to say about this is that coming from a paintball aspect being this is pbnation. The more muscle that you gain the less flexability (sp) you will have. So lifting high weights and low reps would be more ideal because you want the strength but you don't want to be huge. Also having a smaller frame gives less of a target.

Uh... This post wasn't serious, was it?

1.) About 85% of the people on this forum haven't played paintball in years... So that's irrelevant anyway.

2.) You only lose flexibility when you use poor range of motions, ****ty form, poor exercise selection, and you don't do mobility work. Guess what, you lose more flexibility sitting on your *** all day doing nothing than picking up heavy things. More muscle =/= less flexibility.
Ask this guy:
3.) Learn how to read, because the "myth" you quoted was that high weight/less reps adds tons of mass... It tends to add less mass due to the lower volume. Besides, I know a thing or two about paintball... The extra 1 inch you might add overall to your frame if you gain about 20lbs of nothing but muscle will hardly make you an easier target. Learn how to play tight and you won't have to worry about it.

The guy who wrote is doesn't really know anything and is kinda tiny. Some of it is good advice but a lot just isnt true. Make sure you find a certified trainer somewhere. They know the newest and best stuff.

EAT MOAR

I would bet you $10000000000000 that you have not been eating even close to 3k calories a day. You don't need drugs, you don't need special magical programs.

You need the following:
4k Calories (clean) + Lift heavy ****

I bet you'll add on some mass.
