Sounds good to me. McDonald's is gross and obesity is a huge epidemic. Basically just killing two birds with one stone...?

It's big government. I prefer not to be regulated unless there's a clear and present *need* which *only the government* can fix. If you don't like McFries, don't eat there, right?

I'm all for an education campaign on the impacts of trans-fatty acids. But banning them seems wrong.

edit: Nevermind, I looked it up. It doesn't really matter what it is anyway. If a store wants to sell unhealthy stuff, it should be their right.

I'd agree as long as there is sometype of legislation that would prevent people from suing the restaurants for being obese.

they wont leave the market, they'll introduce new products and this time people wont even ask whether they're "healthy" or not.

I like the idea, but trans fat isnt the boogie man driving up obesity/diabetes, it's the american will to be slothful

This is like saying people cant have abortions. Its a personal choice to go eat a dozen big macs, and its a personal choice to abort. From my understanding of the constitution the government has no power to control our choices as long as they dont infringe upon another persons rights.

*Note*Dont even start on abortion neither side will ever make headway.

People should have the option to do as they please. It's ****ing pathetic that people can't be expected to make the decision not to be fat unhealthy pigs on their own, but you have to draw the line that people can make their own choice and not blur that line where it seems convenient.

Then you should be for this. The *need* is present because Americans are disgustingly obese and unhealthy and nobody other than the government has been able to do anything to fix it.
