The Speedy chips from www.advantagepb.com have been banned by the NPPL, starting with San Diego.

http://www.nppl.tv

They have a press release on there.

I had a feeling Speedys were going to hurt the sport in some way. I'm happy to see the NPPL Officials take some initative

How exactly are they gonna find the people who are using them? Its almost impossible to tell becuase with the push of one button the chip goes back ot regular mode.

Ramping has always been illegal...... or am I wrong?
They finally made a specification against this specific chip.

OaklandDogs187 plays in the PSP
OaklandDogs187 plays in the APPA D4 division
Good luck catching them...Put in the code after chrono while waiting for the break, if a ref comes to check you switch hands and don't look down while hitting the off button, voila, clean, but you'll have to play the rest of the game in regular mode. It's gonna be hard to catch it.

From reading that, it looks like they DQ any team that has a gun with the chip in it... even if the chip is in a legal mode and is not ramping. So they dont have to catch you ramping, just see that you have the chip in your gun.

Itll still be hard for them to catch tho, but at least they are taking a stand.

If a ref has a strong suspicion that your gun is ramping, they can always just take your grips off after the game and find out for sure.

The chip looks the same.

Theres no reason to think this will do anything. Just a scare trick by the NPPL
