I understand because I work for a hosting company.
How is how I explain it to some of our users.:
Just because you feel like driving around in a 1930 Ford Model A Sport Coupe(top speed of 65), doesn't mean you should tell the Highway administration that they should not raise the speed limit to 70 MPH in some places.

This is both a developer and a user issue. If your target audience still uses XP and ie6, than you have to develop for it.

2. Our IT team doesn't deem it necessecary to use any other browser than ie. and they require a system admin password to install any new software. I think they get a kickback from microsoft
:EDIT:
Im not complaining about the compatibility issue. John had asked for pics, and I made ithappen

Lol wut? No ASM money was used to buy the Skydeck. And Ed kept it anyway when he sold the site 3+ years ago.

What is the difference? If you can empty an inbox you can empty a sent box....

The difference is noticing it is even there to empty and understanding it is necessary.
The same applies to the checkbox. If you know how to hit send, you can check the box to save important messages first.

That would be true if the "save" checkbox where above or near the send button.
For me its off the screen on the bottom. Out of sight, out of mind.
ASM should allow you to automatically save.

I wasn't even aware that there is a save check box. However I'm aware that my sent messages do not get saved to my sent box.
apparently I'm in the minority

I was aware of it, but it's just too inconvenient to check it everytime I send a message. And plus, I often forget to check it and forget what I sent so I have to see til the sender replies to see my original message in the quote...
It would be nice if there was an option to save messages when sent so it auto-selects the checkmark everytime. Default value would be off, but users can choose to save messages without having to manually check the box each time.

Earlier in this thread it was stated that people have left the b/s/t because pbnation failed to innovate.
I feel that is incorrect. I find internet forums the easiest (yet still clunky, especially when trying to sift through large posts) way to search for specific markers, or gear. I feel that the reason people have left is because of all the low ball offers, and people who drive the prices down.

Everyone posts their prices too high anyways and if you get lowballed ignore it or tell them no thank you. I have sold guns for well over 20% of their value just because I waited. Finding the right person who can't live without that gun is what makes a sale

Truth ^
If you're desperate to sell, you are gonna take the best offer that comes your way. If you're patient you will get you're asking price, you just have to hold out until it's met.
This is true with any hobby. Plus the age that's allowed to purchase the item in question will also determine your wait. I have seen in several cases with real guns it become a bidding war for someone who really wants the item, and very rarely does it go below the asking price.

You obviously haven't used eBay or amazon recently .
I can find things way quicker with their search features and compares all the people selling it for the best price in 1/15 of the time on here .
Ie if I'm looking for a cheap rotor I'm going straight to ebay or amazon rather than scowling through 20 hopper listings and 10 gearbag sales .
Pbnation needs to be the paintball hub and integrate with these other platforms . A forum won't beat eBay or amazon at bst .

Custom Cockers just added a auction style area to their forum, although, they are a much smaller community, and prolly have a much easier time enforcing/ending the tomfoolery that would surely ensue here

Just a few things:
1. Easier picture posting. I've been to other message boards that allow me to drop pics right into them from my computer. That would also help the B/S/T section which I will touch on in the next point.
2. Personally, I feel like the B/S/T section is getting worse and worse over the past year or so. People refuse to follow any of the posted rules from the mods, and there seems to be little done in reference to the problem. People also refuse to read the OP's post, and will spam their offers on numerous threads, even if the OP clearly states "no trades, price is firm, etc". I almost feel like everyone thinks they are in a pawn shop and can offer low balls in every thread and it has just become accepted behavior. On other paintball forums that I frequent, this is a NON ISSUE. PbNation is the best paintball site in the world, but a change in the general culture of the B/S/T forums would be for the best.

Paintball News Rules |
- No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
- Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
- If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
- Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
If you have questions, please post them in the Talk to Mods/Admins forum.
