The manufacturer that made Dye paint has been contracted to make another company's paint and ONLY their paint. Unless finds another manufacturer, their paint will cease to exists

I'm rather sad, I love CG and can probably credit 2 wins last year with the quality of the paint compared to other choices available.
That being said, I've always found it ironic that the worst performing setup for Dye CG I've usually found has been a DM + Rotor. Something about that combo and the cold that turns em into paint blenders. Clones, Luxes, Virtues and Pinokios held up fine

Damn, I heard Dye paint wasn't that bad either. Too bad they ceased it, anyone know why?

So far it's just a rumor. Nothing concrete yet.

It is tournament grade paint. Ultra Evil is the same price point. You don't play rec ball with tournament paint...

This kind of surprises me. I wonder if they realized it wasn't worth all of the trouble for the little money made by it. Wonder what paint companies will pick up the dye teams for this season

Valken is also made overseas and redemption is $45-$50 at local shops while CG was at least $65-$70. I dont think it was the profit as they were probably making a good chunk.
I never got to shoot any of it!

I think I paid $45 for a case of this when it came out and it shot awesome. Confused and surprised it's going away.

As far as the quality of the paint goes I know it was good stuff, you just can't win with bad paint at the pro level. I really didn't like their packaging though. If you're going to make strictly tournament paint then all the fancy stuff is pointless.
Their resealable bags were tough to work quickly with in the pit during a match. They made them thicker so the could stand up on their own and included the Ziploc at the top. It just wasn't fast. I felt like they could have knocked off all the packaging and literature and either kept that profit for themselves or took it off the price tag.
GI nailed tournament packaging. The flimsy bags they use are incredibly easy to open, wrap around a pod to fill it, dump into a paint caddy, our whatever else you need to do with it. And they included the oversized Ziploc bag. You really only need one per case at the maximum. And everybody already knows GI MAKES great paint. IMO all of the companies could sell paint at the event in a white or brown box, I really would care, the box makes no difference.
I do wonder if anybody will step up and take their place.

What I wonder is who allegedly outbid them on the contract with the manufacturer

Best paint I've ever shot was that Smart Parts paint in the early 2000's.
This Dye stuff shoots really nicely too.

I've ended an entire woodsball game back in the day from shooting a kid in the head with sub-par paint. I felt pretty bad about it so I started buying better paint from that point. It makes the game more enjoyable for everyone.
