so my TRV's finally came in and i just finished installing them on my O3. installation is quick and easy. one surprising result is that there was no need for an adapter. that's right, my TRV fit without the need of an adapter. the inlet hole on the back of the ram is 10/32 threading so your TRV should just screw in.
well, i took some pics as i was installing my TRV so i could create some sort of a tutorial for any of you interested in this mod. so here goes.
first, this is your O3. this mod only requires you to concentrate on the back of your ram / back hose.
the first thing you want to do is to take off the hose from the back connection. you may want to take the trigger frame off to give you more moving room with the hose (don't forget to take off the eye cover too). to take out the hose, you must first (1) hold the clampers in place then (2) at the same time, pull out the hose.
once the hose is off, unscrew the back hose adapter.
here's a closer look at the TRV's. you don't have to use these. other options are eclipse QEV's or any other QEV's out there. i chose these for their compact size and because one of them is a staggered, 90* design. this one lines up with the back hose nicely as you will see in the pics later. contrary to what others may say, the TRV comes with a 10/32 adapter so no worries about fit.
and just for those who are curious to see what the TRV will look like with Pry8's adapter...
an o-ring was included in the straight TRV but i took that off and placed it on the 10/32 threading adapter which i placed on the staggered TRV. i then just screwed in the TRV onto the ram WITHOUT an adapter. i also had to cut a bit of the hose off because it was too long for the TRV.
air blows this way, instead of to my face.
so there it is. TRV installed WITHOUT an adapter. total installation time should be 5-10min.
