Omg Fast Viking (true Story. Is Actually Written Out Like A Story)

ok everyone! atm i have some awesome news! recently i aquired a very nice up'd viking from here(pbn), with a Tadao M5 board in it, and was dying to try it out. (backstory) atm i have a DXS Pulse. its practically brand new (im the Orig. owner). i figured the pulse should be able to keep up with my 4 year old viking (yea forgot to mention year. oops) but to my suprise the Pulse/Viking combo wasn't working out for me. even if i put the viking in semi. you see, i dont like to have the restrictions of having a capped firing mode. so, like i stated a few words ago, even in semi i was out-shooting the pulse and coldn't figure out why. thought it was the batteries in the pulse. so i decided to try some new batteries. same thing happened. tried it again with the 9v mod, same thing again. paint kept chopping. so then i decided to put an RF in my setup to see if that would work. nope it only slowed me down during my normal play. (now to the good part) so recently my good friend and teamate picked up couple of VLocity hoppers and wanted to completely deck em out. so we went and got the Revvi packs for em both and speedfeeds for em both. both had XSV chips in them and worked great. no problems anymore. (mainly cause i was sick and couldn't pull the trigger as fast. so on saturday when we were at the normal field back home we came upon the new Virtue chips for the VLocity hoppers (no this is not a comercial for the god damn chip). saw that they could, apparently, feed 35(+) bps. suddenly we both got the idea to see if we could be comlete dicks and try to outshoot these newly upgraded hoppers we had in our hands. we went up to the chrono; got everything situated; and unloaded. now, im shooting a Tadao'd '03 viking, mind you, while my friend is shooting an '07 custom factory anno'd Bob Long Closer. we both got up to around 22-24bps each (we love our triggers. like they were made to be used by us). then we started arguing about who had the better gun... my viking or his closer. soon after, everyone at the field started to circle around likewe were gonna duke it out about our guns. the sides of the arguement had become practically equal. half the field on my side, the other on his. soon we came to the conclusion that we would both put our guns in uncapped full-auto (yes i know... ooooo auto is so gay!!! who cares.) and unload one hopper each seeing whos gun could shoot the fastest and whos gun could outshoot this beast of a hopper setup. the game was on. settings were changed; modes were setup. and it was time to battle it out. he went first, empting his entire hopper in mere seconds. no breaks, gun bucks, nothing. then it was my turn. i stepped up; loaded my hopper; took aim; and unloaded the fury that is viking. the Virtued VLocity ended up being too slow for the viking. in dissbelief, he forced me to fill up again and unleash my viking's imense power. this time it actually ripped two or so balls clean in half, halfway through the hopper. everyone went silent as his jaw dropped wide open and i danced in power-hungry glory.

my story, proving once again, that vikings dominate everything so far.

This really doesn't 100% prove that the Viking is actually faster. And also the electronics comes into play. The delay time of varies setting and so on plays a huge part.

In reality to prove which gun is faster you would need to look at the design of the internal and calculate the fastest possible theoretical BPS.

I dont know. My viking wasnt to fast for some reason. With ramping uncapped it wouldnt do much more than 19 bps.

Maybe it was the board.

What kind of board? I run was 2.0 and I have gotten mine to cycle in the mid/high 30's.

if you could only do 19bps then there was something wrong with your gun or you had a pos hopper....

As far as the story the way you make it sounds like a super hero type thing how you describe how you got everything ready.....

Lol. It was tadao. The hopper wasnt junk. The same hopper on a bob long rapper hit 31 bps peak rate of fire. B2 with speed wheel.

With the gun is test mode.. It to cycled in the 30s. But never more than 20bps with paint.. Weird.

I remember something about ZakVetter's video showing about 23bps w/eyes and 31bps in test mode w/o eyes..

Same here. So yeah i dunno i think the eye logic on the vikings are a bit slower than some newer guns.

I want to try a few different boards once i get another viking

I think it varies. I know I was able to get mine into the mid 20's at least with my pulse...

Well i know tadao offers upgrades for almost all there boards. But us aka owners havnt seen one yet. Wouldnt mind seeing m8 for the boards. We should start a partition and see if Will at tadao would offer the upgrade for us

kids arguing over whose gun is "better" based on how fast it can shoot ftl this thread is no better than half the fanboy threads out there.

Congrats on wasting hoppers full of paint.

And for your "hopper" problem try adjusting your BIP

I never said a gun was better based on how fast it shot. I saw someone comment on it. Thought id share my gun never went above 20ish bps.

Maybe some of us like wasting paint. =)

Just like most people will waste there money on the newest guns out there. Not because there better, but because they are newer.

Lol, no. I play semi auto caped at 14.2ish.

But its fun to see how fast your gun can shoot. I'm just saying wouldn't shoot any faster than 20ish..

I don't think its right any of these leagues use modes period. Because its more like machine against machine. Rather than man against man. The gun is doing most the work now.

I miss the good old days of semi only in games,

hey i never said i play uncapped. most i'll do in any game (unless screwing around with my friends at one of our houses) is 15bps. and with everyone flaming the obscene usage of paint... it was older paint that was practically unusable. its a wonder that it actually shot normally. but yea the board im usin is an older Tadao M5. and we should definately get a petition goin for tadao to make an M8 board for the Vikings.
