Hey guys so I live in lexington and love to play but the prices of field fees and paint are killing me. Is there anywhere where I can ref a few weekends and have free field fee or discount on paint? I think reffing is awsome!

well they will either say no! or yes you can reff a weekend for paint or what not.

or eventually if your good enough they will put you on there roster and you will be on payroll.

the best bet is to talk to the owners and get to know them. then ask them.

Like they said just ask at the fields where you play at if they need help reffing.

Im not being rude. It's the truth, sorry if I came off as an ***. But really either pay it, or get a sponsorship, or something.

But as others said call around, maybe start going to a field more, start talking to the owners.

start hanging out at your field and get to know the staff offer to help out when you can and eventually they will ask youto start working there or will offer you compensation for your work. my team sets up the bunkers and netting every time we come out in exchange for entry/air.

Plain and simple, if field owners gave every joe hotgordida deals, brick and morter paintball stores would cease to exist. Profits keep paintball fields running, Not local humpaloboos doing favors for the field owner. Put in your time, Pay full price like everybody else and suck it up. get a job, donate plasma , open a lemonade stand in your nieghborhood , sell fake girl scout cookies that you so cleverly cooked up in your kitchen to taste like the same thing. Do whatever you have to do to get it done, and if deserving, the deals will eventually make themselves available. This is not ping pong, Paintball is not cheap.

I agree....I have a rough time getting money for paintball also, keeping a roof over our head , food on the table and cloths on my kids back, but i find a way. Craigslist is just one way I am able to get money for paintball. I just wouldnt walk up to the GM of my local field and ask, If he asked me to help out or something and said I'll give u air/ entry discount in exhange some labor that would be different, but i wouldnt just ask for a hand out ,thats not the way I am. Like a few have said paintball shops are far and few between so they count on those sales to keep going, and all those that love paintball understand that. If you feel comfortable asking a owner/GM of a field than thats your buisness...good luck.
