Custom .50 Cal Pistol?

OK I'm new to the site. I just signed up yesterday so I'm not savvy with all the etiquitte and all that jazz...

First things first... I had this idea awhile back and I know alot of people who read this will probably tear the idea apart... That is ok, that's why I'm here. But if you are going to do that than please be constructive and mature about it.

I have an old Eagle .68 plastic frame pistol that is falling apart. I bought the thing used for $10 which was a decent deal for a working marker (Even if it is an eagle .68). I made the mistake of trying to take it apart and clean it after putting a few clips through it. When I got it back together it would only fire one or maybe two shots before it lost all of its pressure.
As far as I can tell the valve and all of the parts are can probably be fixed pretty easy.
So I was thinking about using all of the internals to build somthing new.

Here's the real point. I was looking at the possibility of making a smaller caliber smaller size paint pistol. I was looking at something in .50 Cal. They produce this type for blowguns and some other (VERY) low end guns. So I thought I could snatch the barrel from something like a blowgun and find a way to get the valve and everything else to fit in some kind of frame with it. I'm looking for any ideas that might help in the consturction process.

This is probably about the time when this idea will start getting torn apart. so...

1 - I know that it's alot of work for a marker that (Even if it works) will probably suck and not be legal on any field.

2 - I am aware that messing around with things like this can potentially be dangerous since you are dealing with compressed gas

3 - I know that other Cal. paint does not chrono right on standard machines.

4 - I'm looking for a fun side project and I thought it would be cool

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

.50 paintballs do exist. However .43's and .40 do and are commonly used in senario markers and pistols more common is the .43's. ex http://rap4.com/paintball/os/paintba...ue-p-2074.html RAP 4 also sells the .43 and .40 paintballs. Anyway as long as it cronos it should be legal on the field.

If you want to try somthing interesting you could make a wood stock for the parts you have and maybe make it a bit like a m14 and have a spring loaded feed tube under the barrel.

EDIT -----EDIT I did not know there was .50 paintballs i guess there less common though.

There is a 55 cal I believe, Our field has them as backup rentals. These are what the orignal sport shot hoppers are for, they have an insert in them that turns them from 55 cal to 68cal

a easy way to do this would be to machine a lower reciever (tube) the same as
the one on the gun, this way the function would still be blowback.
Then there would be the fun of fabricating the bolt's guide and breech, and the bolt. Best way to do that would be to (if its a plastic gun) to cut off the top half, get a tube of the right size, bore the right holes, (Look a spyder's diagram)
then slide in a bolot of .50 cal and viola, a 50 cal paint gun.

I know a way you could do it. Machine some sleeves to reduce the size of the bore. I'm not sure how they look on the inside, but i'm sure you could get a few parts machined down to be able to use sleeves to reduce the bore to a .50

Contact someone who could machine a reciever for this type of gun. It's very doable. If you sent the current plastic body into Ken at KP Customs, I'm almost 100% certain he could machine an aluminum version. Then he could powdercoat it lol.

www.kpcustoms.net

Talk to Ken about this, I bet you anything he can do it.

Btw, welcome to PBN. Don't worry about getting flamed, you present yourself better than some idiots who have been here for years.
