Did you space the backcap back with an o-ring around the threads?

Which threads should I put the oring on? where the back cap meets the top hat? or where the back cap meets the body?

ok so finally was able to do testing

settings
dwell 18
lpr to consistant
hpr to 290-300

dropped in the ring no change
consistancy tighten'd up a bit.

for today
used a lp 45/45
paint approximately 686-688 using stock ul.
filled to 3600 cooled to air temp (mid 60's) was able to shoot 3 pods and a rotor with about 500-700 psi left

this is for anyone interested in a drop in test.

tried my on my dm6 this past weekend aswell..same results

I pm'd lurker and he says that i need to lower my dwell for the efficiency gains to be noticable

It seems like most people lower their dwell pretty low. But to me it seems that if I lower the dwell a lot then I'm not going to have that nice smooth shot that I love from my dm.

Is anyone running a setup with a higher dwell? Like 21 for example?

DM12 is coming

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't think many people feel there is a strong trade off in smoothness when lowering the dwell and tuning per our manual.

Increasing the dwell a ton "washes out" the effect of the ring, I believe. You'll only see about as much efficiency increase as a top hat mod - maybe a smidge more - without tuning the gun to synergize with the eigenring

So would you say 21 is too high? Than what would be a dwell that would keep dm smoothness and add the efficiency? Or would you just have to drop the dwell like the manual, then add some points?

I was planning on replacing the can...but if enough people wanted it it's conceivable the eigen piece could be clear itself.

Smoothness is more a result of lpr setting than dwell.. and to really utilize this mod you need to reduce dwell

So then the lower the lpr the smoother? Aren't you going to need to raise the lpr if you lower the dwell? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Normally ,yes. This mod changes that. Between this mod and the be bolt, I was able to significantly lower both.

To clarify on that since it sounds a bit like magic - the ring is fighting the drop in chamber pressure by seeking equilibirum with the pocket of air behind it - this gifts back some of the energy used to charge that space. Now, while you obviously have to use a set amount of air to fire the ball, HOW you use it changes, because the pressure stays higher, then once the ring is fully traveled, drops much more quickly than in a stock gun. Because the DM series is forward balanced, keeping this pressure higher longer results in more forward "boost" on the bolt, allowing the user to lower LPR pressure and dwell.

That's my take on why you can have your cake, and eat it too, with regards to dwell.

I installed my ring two outtings ago and was able to set my Dm11 up as follows:
BW bolt
dwell 16
135-140psi from HPR
LPR 2 1/4 out
I thought I read to remove the oring on the ring itself (only came with one on it) is that right? Packed both sides with lurker lube. Experienced a bit of velocity spikes and or drops in the tune of around +/- 15 every so often. Not during rapid fire but in first or second shots in a short burst or string of ten spaced out without ramp kicking in. tried boosting lpr but only really resulted in making it shoot horrible. Any ppl with DM11 and BW bolt have thier settings handy?
