i was debating a new mouse, i like the g500 but im so use to a wireless mouse i dont know if i could stand having a cord anymore lol. theres also the g700 which is basically a wireless g500 but i heard the battery life is only like 3 days, so **** that.

i have one like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104382

except mine has 1 button on each side for either lefty's or righty's....which is really the only reason i dont like it....they're really comfy in the hand, and the battery life really is amazing. ive had it since 09 and only had to change the batteries twice, with pretty heavy use too. although i would like a few extra buttons under my thumb like a g500 has.

ive been playing a lot of mechwarrior online lately, its really the only shooter ive played on pc. what i dont like about my mouse is its rather light, so when i try to click the side button to shoot it tends to move enough to throw shots off target.

proton came in today, had to chase the mail man down because he rang the doorbell while i was in the shower lol.

this thing is tiny:

it feels really well made too for $320 new that puts it directly next to the G4, and it feels much better made. nothing feels loose, nothing feels weak, anno is nice.

trigger is nice, a bit stiff though and theres no return strength adjustment. it uses a spring return just fyi. has a really nice shape, almost like a violent. it has pre, post, and activation adjustment. wish it had strength adjustment but its really not enough for me to dock it i guess. nice big trigger guard. 8.5/10 on the trigger?

board is nice, its a bit basic and not the most user friendly, but it does everything you need it to do. flip some dipswitches and it puts it straight into psp 12.5. you can set it up pretty much however you want still. eye logic sounds really good. and theres little guards actually covering the eyes themselves. it says it detects how far into the breach the ball actually is, with 3 filter settings. (low/med/high). the high setting waits the longest for a ball to enter the breach to make it easier on paint....

asa is nice, on/off with bleed. kinda wish the knob was a tad bigger though, and i think it vents out from under one of the grip panels which is kinda wierd lol.

feedneck is good, it fits my prophecy no problem. its deep enough to fit the whole neck of the loader in as well. kinda wish it had some sort of texture on the inside for the extra grip but it clamps down very securely, i dont see any loaders flying off.

nice soft tacky grips, they are a bit hard to put back on kinda have to stretch them.

tool-less bolt removal, manual says to just put some oil straight into the asa for maintenance. kinda cool that you dont have to use grease. the moving section of the bolt looks almost identical to an ions bolt, but it doesnt have that "thwa-ump" sound when it shoots, it is a bit loud, but smooth. i havent ran paint through it yet. i wont know what its set on or anyhthing till next weekend. the front part of the bolt that actually moves in the breach is some sort of plastic, so im expecting very little breach wear. has an open face and a very slightly ramped edge.

its seriously milled down to the bare minimum. ill say that because all ive seen are people *****ing about how it looks. the big hump in the middle is actually hollow and doubles as the dump chamber, its not just extra metal.

its really, really, sleek. every screw is recessed, no rough edges anywhere to catch your hands on. i really like this aspect, probably what i like the most. cant stand rear grip frame screws digging into the top of my hand. (cough*eclipse*cough)

manual is sorta basic, comes with some allen keys, and looks like a 1x rebuild and a spare set of detents, which are the rubber/plastic nub style. they look almost exactly like marq detents.

just fyi i paid $240 shipped for it. overall it feels great in the hands, definately looking forward to shooting it next weekend.

its not where youd think. its in the top front of the trigger guard. you pull it out to turn the gun on.

So it's basically like a sear safety?

It is a sear tripper, right?

No sear. It uses a clapper noid sideways mounted to directly actuate a spool valve.

nope, no sear. switch is mounted in the trigger guard, it does kinda make me think of a safety switch. you turn it on/off like you would a mech safety, pull it out for on, push it in for off.

board is in the front grip, which is nowhere near as awkward to hold as a mini's.

my guess is the clapper noid pulls directly on the spool that vents air around.

the power button does actually completely open the circuit and prevents the battery from draining when not it use.

edit: its kinda wierd, i was flipping through the manual and looked at the dwell adjustments. seems wierd a clapper noid would have it, but the dwell settings seem really short for a spool valve. range is from 6-13ms.

the only thing that i dont like about this gun, as far as how its made and such, is when you take the front grip off to get to the board, it just plugs straight into the upper board via a 3 prong lead. its not really attached to anything else and makes you feel a bit nervous lol. definately have to make sure to pull the cover straight down when you take it off lol.

Das sketch.

I have a feeling there may be revisions to that in the future.

I'd wrap tape around the front or something, then.

oh, the front grip is VERY solid. the whole gun honestly feels just as solid as my rapper. i guess its really not a big deal as hopefully anyone realizes to be careful with circuit boards anyway.
