Procaps said their Grill lenses are bullet proof. I tested their claim.
I shot them from 5' with my HK USP 40. I used 165 gr. FMJ rounds. They didn't penetrate the lense. No, they weren't free standing. They were set against something I found out in the field. I didn't want to go looking for them after I shot them. It's not easy to find stuff in high grass.

That is pretty cool, but next time you should use a vice to hold the lens in place.

Wow. That, I must say, shows the true quality of the Grill Lenses. However, the anti-scratch coating still sucks
None the less: Amazing.

not every one is going to know that 165, Full Metal Jacket rounds are...IE a photo of them would help. I know weapons but the avg. pber might not.
paintball_wankster - they wouldn't stop a bullet but I can prove their shrapnel stopping power. they're Wiley X's and ESS (Eye Stafty Systems) those are the 2 that you get issued when you go to Iraq.

Now that I think about it, what would worry me is that if someone were to get shot in the lens while wearing the Grill, the entire mask would push down and flex or snap and the wearer would still get injured.
But it doesn't worry me an awful lot since I don't think anyone is planning on wearing a Grill going into a gunfight

it would be better to have the mask smash your face, than your head to have a nice bullet hole where your eye used to be.
lol (IMO)

Yes, they have eyewear that can withstand buckshot from 20 ft away and other ammo but buckshot is the only one I remember.
They have a lens that was tested at this place near where I live called extreme outfitters.

.40 is a big round. Had no idea they could take a pistol hit.
