Best Military Charities/Causes?

It's a long story and I wont bore you with the details in case it doesn't pan out but basically I may have the chance to work with some fundraising and I figure things like Wounded Warriors etc would be a great thing to do. But yall are active and see what does the most good. What in yalls mind are the best causes we could look into supporting/giving to? I have some good ideas already but like I said, yall are active and probably have a better idea than I. Being from Texas, I know the San Antonio Army Medical Center (not sure of the official name?) supports a lot of dudes without limbs so was going to look hard at that.

Can't go wrong with helping the wounded guys or helping the families of those that never made it home, helping pay for school/college and what not.

There is one... where they take wounded vets and rehabilitate them with camping, hunting, and other outdoors activities. Well... they rehabilitate them mentally. I wish I could remember the name, but they are pretty good.

Sounds like wounded warriors. The guys I know who lost their legs love that one.

Which is why I was asking yall about the best ones that really help the guys who need it. Everyone knows the USO but like you said. Ideas etc are more than welcome.

I dont think that the USO really has a say on where they can take people. That has a lot to do with the security and sensitivity of the area... I know they try like hell to get to as many people as they can thats for sure. They also support in the major airports with a USO area where they have bunks, food, TV, phones, and so much more. They really are an awesome organization.

If you want to check out where the money goes and how much and all of the information on them check out this link... take a look at the Wounded Warrior Project compared to others. Not that its a bad charity but I personally don't like the way the funds are distributed.

I also suggest these:
USO(of course)
Homes for our Troops (http://www.homesforourtroops.org/site/PageServer)
Navy SEAL Foundation (http://www.navysealfoundation.org/)
Fisher House (http://www.fisherhouse.org/) Personal donations made here
Our Military Kids (http://www.ourmilitarykids.org/)
Operation Homefront (http://www.operationhomefront.net/)

Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation, not the Wounded Warriors Project.

Apparently wounded warrior doesn't accept donations from people who support guns.

best..military...and charity don't belong in the same sentence. thugs who swear an oath to the constitution and then completely ignore it to go off and waste taxpayer money and resources on unconstitutional wars don't deserve charity. where's the charity recommendations for all the families you help destroy overseas?

Please go away already.

Don't worry though, when your hero Obama enacts martial law I'll be sure to put a bullet in your head in the ensuing chaos.

i'll have to dig up the one i've heard about.
it was i think new england major head trauma or something like that?
it's to help advance the funding for well you guessed it, major head trauma injuries. mainly dealing with the effects on the brain with ieds.
i know on other boards, wounded warriors isn't that liked anymore. the gun thing, automatically taking 10% of whatever you raised as a fee, pretty sure i heard they don't even take donations under a thousand with fundraisers anymore or something retarded like that?
