Hey guys im looking for a new gpu for my build. It was the only thing i didnt replace when i did my build. Im still using an old radeon 4850hd. My build consists of:

16gb corsair vengance ram
Corsair 650W psu
Core i5 2500K
Asus P8Z68 mobo
Sandisk extreme 120gb SSD

My budget is 150. I may consider going a bit higher if its a huge improvement. I am a very light gamer and graphic designer. My commonly used and played includes fallout games, borderlands, solidworks, 3dsMax, illustrator, and photoshop. I would consider buying used as well. I appreciate any help

At that price range you should probably be looking at 7850's that go on sale from time to time.

Id really rather not have to deal with rebates because they always seem to be a pain in the *** for me but i will definitely keep that in mind.

So my laptop choice made itself. .

Found a G75 on craigslist for $1k on craigslist. I offered the guy $600, my 16gb nexus 7, and that I'd pick it up immediately. Sold

Hey guys. So after a long time of lurking I need some advice. I have the funds now to build my first rig and would like to know what you guys would throw together for around 450-500.

What I don't need: Keyboard, mouse, monitor, case.

What I need: everything else lol

atm I play a lot of world of tanks, minecraft, tf2, etc. I would like to get into some fps and what not. It would be used for pretty much just gaming and photoshop stuff. I plan on using my laptop for all my other needs.

From what ive read the 7850 runs most new games flawless on high settings. probably overkill for me but at least it will last me a while

I would suggest the 7850 but I know your budget is a little tight. You also don't need a CD drive so that could save you ~$20 or put that $20 towards something else.

That is a pretty solid build though

That's actually almost the exact build I put together, but I did swap out the 7770 for the 7850 version of the card. I think it is well worth saving up a little extra $$ to sling at a 7850.

It will do the job, and most 7850s are under $200.
