I understand that. But only some teams will be playing teams tougher then themselves. The best will move up, but the best of the challengers are still the lowest of the pros. I just don't see how playing weaker teams will get you better. Teams like Thunder, 187, they need to be grinding constantly against the best teams they can in order to be a Sunday team. I feel like the other division will make you worse.

If they are really playing teams weaker than themselves, they'll win and get promoted out. That simple.
Right now, it isn't doing some of these teams any good playing against the best in the world. They are just getting beaten up.

I personally like it. It forces the top teams to earn their spots in the top group. Means that teams will need more than a thick wallet to be part of the champions group. And it forces other teams to be more consistent from tournament to tournament. If you have one bad tournament, you could find yourselves in the challengers group.

Yeah definitely. Its just a catch 22, the teams that get promoted up wont be ready for the next level of competition ahead of them, (hence why they got bumped down in the first place). And they best will remain the best because they are playing the best. Oh well, I'm excited to see how it unfolds

pros practice d1 teams all the time, they dont do any worse in tournaments because of it. on the flip side it helps d1 teams get better. granted pro teams also play pro teams, and d1 also plays d1, skill isnt based on who you play during a tournament.

While I agree with you, 187 is only in its second pro season... They've nearly beat top teams several times, including a 6-7 loss to the Russians(I think in over time?) and several other close matches. While I agree practice is everything, I think you'll be surprised at how well some of the teams match up. Still going to say that XSV finishes in the bottom three in the challengers next event though.

Every team in the challengers division has the potential to beat any pro team. This is why I love the PSP. Great teams. Every team has the potential to beat anyone! Great to see Storm in the Pro division again! Great talent and coaching on that team right there!

Just got word that Boom is sticking with D1 this year.
There's room for ten teams in Challengers, correct?

Wouldn't be surprised to see just 8. The 5 pro teams coming down, us, Storm, and Grad.

The relagation games worked great, was glad to see XFactor stay in it. But was sorry 187 was bumped down, if it wasnt for some mistakes in their games, that cost their loses. I really enjoy watching them, they are hungry for it and want it.

If this is true then the bracket would look like this, but we would only have 3 prelim games of round robin?
Group 1
1 Upton 187 Crew
3 Seattle Thunder
5 Chicago Aftershock
7 Texas Storm
Group 2
2 Omaha Vicious
4 Sacramento XSV
6 T1 Topgun Union
8 Grad Moscow
I would think the next on the possible invites list would be CPL Pro teams and NPPL pro teams, then other D1 Teams like CFP Static, Sacramento Damage, and New Jersey Jesters.
EDIT: was just told Fuzion was asked, unsure if they have responded yet.

Unsure why I didn't even consider that.
My bad, as you are probably correct it will be the same thing they did for world cup.
