90 $ imp

i just found an imp for 90 dollars with just cricket board. It has some ups like a blade trigger and a couple other things...should I get it? I'd most likely have to use anti siphon co2. Would it be a big step up from my tippman 98? How cheap can you find a new board (preferably was) on here for?
Thanks

good deal as long as you don't spend too much buying a new board. keep in mind that you can find upped imps that already have vision pretty cheap.

As much as I think nitrogen is the way to go, anti-syphon co2 actually works fine in the Impulse compared to other electros. The Max-Flo reg was designed for it, and it blocks most liquid co2 from entering the marker. If you want consistant shots, or good performance in ramp modes, you need a compressed air tank like everyone has said.

$90 is pretty good pricewise, and makes me wonder what is wrong with it. Make sure it is not a Pre-Release Impulse. If this is your first electro, educate yourself before you buy it. When I left my tippmann 98 to buy the Impulse, I was a bit lost with setting up pressures, dwell, and board settings. Tippmanns are rediculously easy to deal with, and EP guns are high maintenance in comparison.

The Blackheart board is a good upgrade for around $100. If the gun works fine when you get it, you can have one fast gun for only $190 + (a compressed air tank). Thats less than a polymer-alloy toy. The Ion on the other hand can be bought new for $200 and comes with different firing modes, and eyes already installed.

Anti-syphon CO2 works fine. Air is better, but it works fine. Like Flip-side says, the Imp was designed to run OK on CO2.

I went from a 98 to an imp, and you'll really notice an improvement in your ability to play. My 98 didn't have the ROF I wanted for speedball, and since I never play in the woods that was reason enough to change.

I'd be careful of scams, but if legit that seems like a good deal. Ask for the serial number, and if very low (below 5000) be careful because that's very old.

If you're new to Impulses, read FAQ's on wolverine's site (google "kamworld impulse FAQ), or visit the site in my sig for info and help. They're not that difficult to learn to maintain, but definitely are more complex than the 98. I'd try to get to shoot one first too; some people think they're large and heavy.

Good luck with your decision,
Dan

No. He went back, found his old thread, and made a post to clear up some related questions. He did just fine.

Yes, you can fire fast with CO2. It will simply make your gun cold during rapid firing and have less consistant velocity than HPA would.

Many people used/use CO2 on their impulse.
