Anyone watching their ~4:00 game knows what I'm talking about. Was an awesome move but abs call by the refs imo. Was still a good run and good job taking it to them

No idea if they're playing Sunday (or even who they were playing when I was watching them tbh), but the match basically came down to a 5-6 score with 21 seconds left on the clock. Shock tried sending 2 to the x off the break, and in general just trying to blow through the other team. It worked and shock hung the flag with 7 second left tying the game... until one of the refs pulled a penalty on a shock player and after a few minutes of the refs talking among themselves, they negated the point and shock lost 5-6

I'm not going to go on a frothing rage since I don't know why they called what they did. From where I was on the sidelines, they got robbed bad.

Still, hats off to shock for the effort.

Thanks guys for the support. To clear things up it was the right call by the refs. But we still do not agree with how tie breakers are dealt. This is the second time it happened to aftershock. Nothing is guaranteed and we play to win every match.

I guess I am lost, as I read the tie breakers, it sure seemed to me like SJR should have been third.

we caught a minor for overshooting, and davey simmons in the process of hanging the flag got shot by a stray ball meant for the last royalty player. which left us with no time to hang the flag.

PSP 3-way tie breaker goes first to the team with highest point margin. That was CEP. Next they take the remaining two teams and use head to head, which Royalty beat us putting them into the number 2 seed.

I don't understand why the PSP has to over-complicate the tie breakers like this. It should just be point margin as the tie breaker. Then, IF teams have the same margin, then they should use head to head. Not this goofy 3-way tie fiasco that they've come up with.

Regardless, we should've played better to ensure our ticket to Sunday. We could've had a better point margin. We could've won our last match to put us at 4-0. There are many areas to still improve on and this is just one more thing to fuel our fire. We will climb out of the challengers bracket in California, and just in time to make a run at the World Cup title.

As I understand it, (unfortunately

) if there are ties, the 1st place in the bracket is determined by point average, and 2nd place is determined by "head-to-head" play. Thus CEP with the higher point average took 1st place in the bracket, and 2nd place was determined by "head-to head"...Shock lost to Royalty, so Royalty took 2nd, and since they only took the top 2 from each bracket, Shock was "out"!

This is tough to "swallow", especially when you beat the top team in the bracket, AND have a better standing than another team with a 2-2 record that made the semi final. I know other teams have had this happen to them also...this isn't the first time for Shock.

Maybe it's time for the rules to be reconsidered on determining who moves forward out of the preliminaries. The PSP spends a lot of time determining what is "fairest" with regard to rules, and I'm confident that if they feel there is a need to reconsider this issue, they will.

That is totally *** backward.

You had a situation with 3 teams tied at 3-1, each was 1-1 against the other 2 teams, right?

That should fall past the first level (wins) and second level (head-head-head) and take you to total pts scored which had CEP 1, Aftershock 2 and SJR 3.

Every other sports league I've dealt with treated all 3 teams tied the same, there was never a "this rule covers the first place team and then a different rule breaks the other tie".

That's complete crap....but I am sure you already know that way better than me....I am just incredulous at a really stupid system.

Aftershock does not want to go through another heartbreaking turn of events like we experienced in Chicago. But I can assure you, we will be working on the mistakes that were made, and we will be using the Chicago outcome as fuel to add to our fire for the next event.
