Quick question for my fellow NT owners, anyone notice that the manual indicates a dwell of 6ms, however when you check the setting after a factory reset, it comes up as 7ms? Or am I losing my mind, I thought it was suppose to be 6ms like the manual.

I'm one of the others that owns this marker and part of the Paintballgear.ca posse as Nic was saying and also part of the winning team by using it as well. My name is Jono and as you can tell from my join date, I've been playing for a while but anyways. I suffered the same fate and also he was the same person to tell me the solution, but both of us didn't figure out the o-ring trick prior to switching out our air system adapters.

I have to say being a home/corner player that lanning from the left side was one of my weaker points. This marker really assisted me in that by snapping in my left side shooting precision with this light gun really helped me get a kill or 2 off break. That being said about other light guns, I use to use a Bob Long Vice and that marker was really really light.

Everything stock is perfect right now, no problems at all other then if you play semi uncapped you should remember to increase your ROF as default is stuck around 10-12 bps.

Also to mention the maintenance on the marker, the maintenance schedule in the manual will really help new users to actually know when to take the markers apart and lube instead of a constant use then a trip to the local store to fix when you could've avoided it. When we first took apart the gun infront of Billy Wing, I was really surprised on how much lube it came with. The Bolt Assembly literally looked like it was dunked in a bucket of Dye Slick. Billy Wing to quote

"We just wanted to assemble as many guns fast as possible, so excuse the lube job on the marker. Be assured that the amount of lube necessary to gets these guns working is a fraction of that"

Owning spool markers in the past I knew how much lube you sometimes do need, but with this gun his words are actually true. After the tournament I did my usual thing with markers is to keep them in clean ready to go condition. Completely tore it down to clean and re-assembled. There was barely enough lube to make the o-rings shine but the marker sealed up perfectly when I air'ed it up.

Really impressed with the performance of this gun, works beautiful.

Sorry Nic, kinda hijacked your thread after a few sentences!

PMI tank regs are garbage. Replace it, i doubt it was a problem with your ASA.

Put up a better video. You can make any gun spray all over the place lol

Shoot at one spot so we can see the kick/consistency.

its the ASA...i tried several brands and only one that i found to work right (without the o-ring in the ASA) is an empire fuel. the list i tried were pmi, crossfire, ninja, pure energy, invert (empire also) and had the same issue with them all...its definately the ASA. for those that have these tanks...either put an o-ring in the ASA or turn on the ASA vavle and then screw in your tank...it worked for all those i tried.

I thought that too, but re-read that part of the manual, that ROF only comes into play if the eyes are turned off.

This gun doesn't Kick, for most of the video I am resting the inline reg on my thumb rather than gripping it, so you can see it not really kick back. I just wanted to show the out of box speed. Accuracy would be similar to any gun with a .688 UL

Pmi regs dont suck haha, Its just what happens when u push a tank pin in to far. All tanks have the possibility of doing this.

I didn't have anyone filming me so I shot around a bit to make sure something got in frame. Will probably do a better one later today or tomorrow.

So comparing it to a DM9, does it shoot about the same? Better or does it shoot more like a 09 PMR?

having shot it I can tell you it doesnt shoot like a matrix

it shoots more with a pop

not an annoyingly loud pop like the geo, but a noticeable pop

I assume with some breaking it this sound will lessen

still a reasonably quiet marker.

okay, just surfed and found this thread, but i've noticed this gun is crazy expensive but lacks some of the perks it's rivals have. It still uses a standard asa and reg with macro, which is cool and all, but now that SP, BobLong and Luxe all have inline, whats Dye got to counter that. Don't really care bout that, but what about Bolt removal? Is it easy to remove? cuz i noticed it had an allen hole, while sp boblong and luxe all have quick tool less removable bolts. And on eyes, SP has it's new hinged eye doors, Luxe the magnetic covers, and Boblong has 4c eyes, does it have the same eye system as the DM9? and speaking of the DM9, whats so different from the dm9, is the boost bolt and new milling really worth an extra 600? Im not trashing this marker, i just want to know more about it, i can't find anything specific, so i thought i'd ask the owners. thanks for your time.

id rather have a macro line personally and if 4c eyes make such a big diff why isnt everyone doing it and the gun operates nothing like a dm

just wondering why it's price tag is so high. other guns like the luxe that are that expensive have some new features that are innovative even if they are a little unnecessary at times, but all i can find on the nt is a more efficient bolt, is there anything else that is better about it than other markers?

Well there is the customizable shot chamber, there is the new ultralite with the swing adjustable trigger, it has an improved self cleaning eye that has been extremely popular in the dm8 as well as 9. It has a new streamlined ASA. And new clamping feedneck. I see alot of areas that Dye has left for upgrading/customizing (I see different color reg grips as well as different color/style snatch grips and back caps coming soon)

I think the big thing that the bolt system is completely new. The lux was based off a proven operating system thus it's development and production was less demanding (atleat I would expect it to be), and because it was a proven system it gave them more time to focus on other things... Where as with the NT the main goal during development is just getting the thing working right. Then after it platform is accepted into the market and is proven with a trouble free track record, then they can spend time with the other little nuances.

Some people won't be able to justify the price tag. I personally believe it is a great performing marker and have fallen hard for it. It will definately be my marker for the rest of 09 as well as all of 10..

i'm having the same problem with my NT and i use a myth reg for now i have just been screwing it all the way in and then out not even an 1/8 of a turn and it has been working fine (i know i'm too lazy to put an o-ring in the asa) but isn't there something in the manual about putting a different o-ring on your tank? i thought i might have read that somewhere in the troubleshooting but i could be wrong or mis-interpreted that as to put an o-ring in the asa. I first used mine at a small big game and with the paint being incredibly small (my friend was using a .679 freak insert) and the smallest back i had for my NT was a .684 that wasn't even mine for the day i ended up shooting around 245-250 depending on how the paint fit. main reason was i didn't feel like testing how much pressure my solenoid could take so i just left it where it was near the stock settings. I handed the gun off to a friend in the game (he was shooting a DM9) and he thought my gun was shooting hot because it was shooting farther than his DM that was shooting near the 280's i believe. I thought the same thing as well for most of the day. this gun outshot just about every gun that was out there that day, yes there were a lot of tippmanns and ions but it was still outshooting a DM9 and a DM7!
I love my NT!

Sorry, but this was a figment or your imagination. One gun wont shoot farther than the other at the same velocity. With your NT shooting at 250 and the DM9 shooting at 280, the DM9 would be shooting farther not matter what, its simple physics. The only thing that would change this if you were using an Apex or Flatline barrel which i am assuming you were not.
