Well, after 25 seconds of googling, I came across this...

http://www.amazon.com/Suction-Slurp-...words=slurpgun

Seems much more practical.

It's supposed to be difficult I guess. It seems fun.

I got 20lbs of that purple live rock, a purple reef lobster, and 30lbs of live aragonite sand for $20 and my clown knifefish.

I hate being accustomed to night shift when I need to be up during the day.

This live rock is pretty cool, the purple looks good in the tank.

I am a facebook fan of online aquarist on facebook and they just posted an interesting article about lionfish hunting. Apparently lionfish populations have blown up all over the world causing alot of damage to other species of fish and coral. If people hunt them killing one lionfish saves thousands of fish.... Heres the article

they eat everything an really do not have any preditors, especially where introduced. pretty much the exact same scenario with cane toads in australia or feral cats...everywhere.

Invasive species are pretty crazy. I'm looking forward to diving in Hawaii and seeing the native wild life.

So today is my birthday and I'm going to the Baltimore aquarium should be a good time.

I was super disappointed with the aquarium in Baltimore. Then again, I'm kinda spoiled. The GA aquarium in Atlanta is one of the biggest in the country.

I finished the whole thing in a half hour. Very disappointed I'm at the hard rock right now drinking pyrat.

Most of the "rare" fish they had were mislabeled and common. They are seeking a blue throat trigger though. I'm tempted to donate mine.

ha, you will see an assload more invasive in hawaii than you will natives, that is for damn sure.

some invasives are not that bad and COMPLETELY over blown (snakeheads in the continental US, pythons in florida), some are seriously huge problems (house cats, asian carp, that ash beetle thing, etc). bottom line is if it shouldn't be there it shouldn't be there...period

the python issue in florida is hilarious to me. they can barely survive where they are at, the numbers really are not that large and there is zero chance of the population spreading as the climate is too cold. they are one cool winter night from being wiped out.

I used to go the Baltimore aquarium multiple times a year when I was little. Last time I went was about a year ago, it was better about 10-15 years ago IMO.

I think with my 20g I'm setting up I'm gonna go with a lot of plants and some shrimp for a while and get it set up how I want then get fish later on for it.

It was cool minus the ****ty kids running around.

So...and I know you are going to laugh...I want an octopus. I don't know why I'm so compelled to get one, but I am.

So I've pretty much gotten rid of all of my freshwater stuff. We are taking our salt setup to Hawaii.

Back to real life, my tank is running really well. I got a daitom bloom, but it's really not bad. Just a little on the rocks. I cut back the light cycle by an hour and did a 25 gallon water change as recommended by my LFS. My blue throat trigger is still my favorite fish, but the other tenants are doing great. Somebody told me my anemones would die immediately because I'm a noob. **** you, they've been in there for a few weeks doing great. The clowns are doing great too. Saltwater is a lot of fun!

I got all my reef supplies (seachem additives) and my new hydor power head. That power head is sick. So easy to disassemble and reassemble and perfect amount of power.

Well, my fish is still sick, and still won't eat.

FML.

As bad as this sounds, I just wish the fish would either get better or die.
