Im starting to get the pieces together to build a fixed gear for a commuter but I am wondering what the best way to get wheels would be. Would I be better turning a wheel into a fixed gear wheel or buying a fixed gear wheel set like the deep V everyone uses. It looks like this might the most expensive part of the bike.

Ya, definitely just buy a fixed gear wheelset. I tried rebuilding the rear wheel my bike came with and, unless you really know what you're doing, it's not worth it.

^lol, that is kinda funny. They say your mounting and dismounting (no homo?) are the most important parts of cross.

So, cany anyone reccommend a good fluid trainer and roller trainer?

Went for a ride this morning and I felt like I was riding in The Walking Dead or after the rapture. 30 miles and only saw 3 cars on the road (all sinners of course).

So, there is play in my pedals up and down. They are 2 years old. I can see them move just slightly in the crank, but can't feel it when riding. Is that a peda problem or what? The pedals are fully tightened.

So the pedals are fully tightened into the cranks and you can move them while in the threads? You might want to get that checked out quickly so you don't strip the crank threads. Had that happen to an ego of mine and I stripped the threads with the barrel.....$1,200 wasted.
