Does the viking achieve higher ROF over the Excaliber? Or are they the same?

Loaded question...

The Viking can be set faster than the excal because you can "overclock" your hopper by a few bps. Meaning you can set your viking for 27 or 30 bps throw on a Halo and never skip a beat since you can't pull the trigger fast enough to outshoot your loader.(In most cases) That's because of the Viking's open bolt firing sequence.

Since the Excal is closed bolt you must fine tune the setting to the speed of your loading system. We've had Excal's equipped with Halo B's set upto 20-22 bps feeding reliably. (Had an Excal set to 22 run Ultra Evil at 2002 WC no skips or breaks all week) The main thing to remember is, with the excal being closed bolt, the bolt open time is a constant. Whether you're shooting 1 bps or 16 bps, the hopper has to feed the gun just as fast with every shot to be reliable. With the excal if you set the gun for 20 bps that means you have 1/20 sec everytime you shoot to feed a ball.

I'd really like to see an Excal with an eye to see exactly what the gun is capable of. Especially since we know if it's got an eye it'd be very likely that eye is controlled by a WAS board.

The Excal at Cup is Rizzo's you could PM or email him to get the settings.

By the way, it's the Jurassic Goo he has up for sale right now.

Looking at his add here, maybe it was only set to 20.8 at Cup, either way it was still plenty fast.

Sorry it's taken so long.
Viking stock ROF
10,67
To increase the rof decrease the second number. You can drop the first number if needed but I wouldn't go lowere then 9.

Excalibur stock ROF
6,5,60,25

Excalibur 15.625 bps
6,2,33,23

I don't have an Excalibur with the Humphreys so I can't do a lot of testing right now. Use these as a guideline to fine tune the numbers to your particular gun.

I've been running the 15bps settings for a couple days now and I've got a problem w/ them.

The gun pinches like nobody's business and the bolt stays back. Sometimes it seems like a pinch, but the bolt is already all of the way back.

What's going on, and what's the fix?

Me, i had a problem too but i don't know if this is because of the 15.625 settings.
I had the O-Ring in the front of the bolt who has been cut. So, i changed it (i had a spare part of it) and he came out. So i had to do all the competition without the front O-ring of the bolt.
Why it did that? And how to receive other O-rings?
About the pinches, i had some but not too much (one or 2 times).

Thx

You may need to reprogram the marker

Ok,
I just changed the settings to the stock ones and the bolt no longer stays back.

Now it just seems really slow (the 10 bps). Does anyone with the new Humphrey Sols have a higher ROF setting that works well?

*edit*
Yes, I was running a halo b with fresh batteries. The pinches I was referring to was when the bolt would end up staying back until I nudged it forward.

Try reloading the 15 again. I have the old noids and mines set at 14._____ and it RIPS. With either noids you sould be able to set it at 15 and have no problems.

need help with my excal

Need Help
Ok here it goes, AKA set my excal to shoot 17 bps at the world cup in Orlando this past October. I don’t know what kind of adjustment they did other that the software upgrade but my excal shot nice with my haloB and had no problems what so ever. I ran into a few problems with the haloB and decided to get evo2 hopper and down grade the software to shoot 14 bps. Is there anything else that I need to adjust to fix my chopping problem? My excal now chops paint all the time and would like to get it working correctly with my evo 2 hopper. Here is my setting and got this from Auctionjunkie (Dan)

Hopper=Evolution 2
ROF=14.08451
Hammer Drive=10
Hammer Release=1
Bolt Drive=35
Bolt Release=25
Hammer Draw Enable=6
Bolt Draw Enable=10

Thanks

Hey, i just solved all my problems

It seems my 2 problems were in the same way
So, i stayed (for the moment) at 15.625bps
For the O-ring of the from who goes out, Eileen Alexander & Aaron said me it happen sometime and you have to play without it when it happen.
In fact, i found yesterday some O-rings who seems to work fine on the bolt (a bit smaller than the original one of the front). The new O-ring i placed is 8.9mm x 1.9mm and the material "Nitril rubber 70sh"
When i placed this O-ring on the front of the bolt and lowered my the LPR from 85psi to 70psi, my choping stopped and if a ball don't go all inside, the bolt stop on it without a problem. And the O-ring stay in place. It seems the bolt drive softer in the Excalibur with this O-ring in the front
To do those 2 changes stopped my problems.
Now, i've prepared a 20bps settings for the Excalibur with new valve. I'll test it soon (maybe this week end) and tell you the settings if it works well

As promised last week, i tried a 20bps on my Excalibur with Humphreys valves:
here it his:

ROF=20.000
Hammer Drive=6
Hammer Release=1
Bolt Drive=30
Bolt Release=13
Hammer Draw Enable=6
Bolt Draw Enable=10

It seems to work well when the Excalibur is very well broken. Mine is only 20-25.000 shots (in 2 weeks), so it leak sometime when i walk very very fast the trigger. So, i'v to brake more my Excalibur at 15.625 before trying again that setting.

If someone want to try it and tell me what he think but i think you must use a marker with 30-40.000 shot minimum to use it without problem

So, i'll tell you in a few weeks - when i'll be around 40-45.000 shots - if it work well

PS: for information, my Excalibur ha
