If Nick ends up going, and Stretch doesn't have any other plans, I figure we could do 4 or 5 in that room, like last year.

IIRC, divisional is now $150 to shoot it. Shop around and see if there's an outlet or something you can shoot for.

Shooting my first wedding next saturday. A little nervous about getting the flash down.
Shooting it for free as a back-up photographer, so nothing do or die.
just trying to stay out of the way and do what i can.

If at all possible just forget flash. That's my motto. I have a wedding tomorrow and I have a feeling I need to do flash . I'll be setting up strobes though and dragging the shutter to let ambient fill back in as much as possible.
I know how to do it, and gel things, and the whole shebang but it's super time-consuming when things are moving at a faster pace and changing between settings when you move around.

after reading for hours on end on different blogs i think im going to run a speedlight on-camera, bounced off w/e is there.
expose for the ambient light then run the flash in TTL mode. I'd probably have to do some FEC, but yea. That is how i've convinced myself i'm going to shoot it.
I think if i had more time to prepare and get gear together, i'd set up a couple strobes around the room so i can just raise the overall light levels of the room.

I could *possibly* do edits of the ceremony to show at the reception but it'd be crazy. Just do all things through lightroom and then throw it up on a projector and screen.

nopenopenope. just stills. If, say, they give me 45 minutes of lull time and I had an extra shooter shooting then I could pump out getting ready and ceremony shots to show during the reception since LR has the nifty little slideshow component.

that was sick.
Also, that is the most intense wedding i've ever seen. Pakistani weddings have 3 separate events on 3 separate days, but they look like they did 2 of them + a "christian wedding". crazy stuff.
BTW- if you guys want to make some money, shoot a pakistani weddings. you can get paid for 3 separate days for one wedding. and every event is just the bride and groom sitting on a stage. easy money

Intense amount of wedding awesomeness, but it sounds like a good time.
The woods parts of survival training isn't bad by the way. The resistance part....
made me wish I hadn't signed up for it. And this was the short portion.

Sounds to me like PSP Sponsors can assign a pro photographer, but they have to notify PSP who the photographer is before the registration ends, and not like "oh I want that guy shooting for me" the day before.

Vendor is different from a sponsor. So if you shot for RAZA, you still wouldn't get a Pro pass. Has to be GI, Dye, PE, etc. List of sponsors is on PSP's website.

Why do people try to cover up marks with a marker... just leave it so people can tell how bad the marks are... Covering up with marker just shows how ****ty you treat your gear.
