Elecro Epic?
Im 100% possative if sum1 were to come out w/ an electro epic- it would be the RAVE at every tourneyment and every single tourney player would have one, get it to shoot 20bps and yer set for EVERYONE to buy one! make it look bad ***, and there ya go. It seems the simpler the guns become, the better they operate- right now the best gun on the market is the quest no question, its got 1 moving part, and theres 2 peices inside of it...period- thats it, simple enough? no!- how about no moving parts! lol thee we go w/ the epic (cept for the trap door ofcourse but hey i wont count that)! if any1 has news on an electro one coming out pls let me know! I WANT ONE!!!

i think the project was scrapped a long time ago... i know he wanted to do it. But for whatever reason, maybe financial, R&D, or just not possible. And epic people dieing off... i'd say dont count on it.

Quoted from a different thread:
"The e-Epic first surfaced a couple years ago when Jim started development and one prototype video was released. Since then, there has been nothing. Jim hasn't released any more updates or info about the fabled e-Epic and for all we know, the idea could've been scrapped completely. The bottom line is: there isn't and probably won't be an electro version of the Epic."

i wouldn't venture so far as to say the quest is the best gun on the market.. the quest had flaws and needs to get them fixed up. It is a great gun but the 06 Macdev cyborg would be the best gun on the market as of now. In the spool gun category, I'd place the quest on the top spot.

dont even argue, dont mean to change the theme of this thread but skitzo must be corrected, the quest is lighter, more efficient, faster, easier matnience, and probably more consistant than a cyborg...any more points?

umm, yes...IMO, most highends PERFORM the same, but it mostly comes down to Personal Preferance.(its visual and physical appeal.)

OK, if you guys want to argue about the damn Quest, there is a whole forum dedicated to the Quest on this very site. This is the ICE forum; the thread starter asked an ICE-related question and got an answer. Now leave it at that.

An amazing mechanical aptitude and an uncanny knowledge of the Epic...

I dont think he altogether has scrapped the idea, I think he is still spending most of his time tweaking the epic and changing the little things he can to make it even better. Perhaps when he is done doing the tweaking he will finally progress over to finalizing an electronic version. It sounds like he is a one man show, and that he pretty much runs everything himself. He offers to license his patented trap door technology, so perhaps some other company could pick up the licensing and develope their own electronic version. If only they would.

by giving it to another company. I could see something similar to a shocker/quest/mag single tube design. High end electro... it should have been done a long time ago though.

basically saying. If he allowed another company to make it. Like basically a shocker/quest or something. A single tube body design just that instead of spool valve it, just being like the internals of the epic...

It's already "single tube," but it doesn't really have any. Just the breach.
You mean they would make it more compact?

i know its single tube. Im saying though, if a company bought the licensing for the design of the epic, then it'd be like a shocker or quest design. But much better, since it wouldnt have a bolt, itd be much more consistant, less kick if any at all, and just better in every aspect. If it was to be done that is.

IIRC, the one video that was released of the prototype E-Epic portrayed a marker with a good amount of recoil. What the kick could be caused by, I have no idea.

possibly the large amount of air going through it at such high ROF? creating some sort of thrust so that the gun actually kicks back. Possibly.... i dunno i didnt see a video.

It looks like you could just have a pancake (sear) solenoid actuate it.

The only way I can imagine making an electro epic is with alot of changes.
The built in regulator will need to be removed..a new grip frame would need to be designed so that electronic components, a battery and a solenoid could fit in it. The valve area would need to be tapped one way or another to allow the use of a vertical regulator in place of the standard simple foregrip.
The gun would be completely changed, and would use a normal non built in ASA unless they internally routed the airlines from the vertical regulator through the all new trigger frame. Its possible.

no the borg is as easy to maintain.. more consistant..about the same weight if not lighter and WAYYY more efficient...
