Yea I think it is necessary to do both no adjustments to see which barrel is most efficient and to chrono all the same speed for accurate sound comparisons.

Also I know it would be a lot of time so there is no need to do multiple guns. It will double everything as far as paint, air and time and not give any different info. Stick to a spool gun too.

If my GT will shoot in this crappy cold weather we're having, i'll use that. Otherwise, it's going to be the G6R

I would rather use a poppet gun in comparing different barrels because of the fact that it is louder then the Clone GT. This way it will be easier to hear the difference between the barrels.

The Clone GT is one of the quietest markers around and it may be harder to notice a difference.

I'm going to end up doing both like I previously thought.

Very nice. I just got some barrels to do an in depth review as well. I will be comparing the Dye Ultralite, Disruptive Deathtouch, and Furious Lotus.

Anyone try the DW on a Luxe before? I'm curious to how quiet that it would be compared to stock. I'm thinking about picking up the DW Whip Tip. Mainly for sound and weight and for a change of pace.

The DW will be lighter, but a little snappier in sound signature.

Where's the video man! Just in case you haven't made it yet, maybe you could chrono the guns with the stock barrel to have something of control group? Just a thought. Also if possible measure the paintballs?

Can't wait to see it man!

I wanted to make it today, but it's WINDY! Weather in NJ sucks at the moment I have a spot picked out, air, paint, 2 guns, a virtue clock, and 5 barrel kits to test against!

Death Touch
Deadlywind
Furious Lotus
Lucky15
CF Boomstick

if the weather is decent tomorrow you can expect to see it up tomorrow night

A very underrated barrel I have used was my G6R bob long .685 barrel. Every barrel on my G6R was loud. When put that BL barrel on it was definatly quieter.

But also a underrated barrel is a shift kit. On my Axe it was real quiet. I have one on my GT(stock) and amazing. I put my lucky15(one if my favorite kit) and my UL away. Not seen much play since....

Most carbon fibers are quite. I roll with the STIFFI all the way! Amazing porting and extremely light!

Carbon fiber is usually louder because of resonation.

stiffi barrel and sanchez machine sm3 kit are the quietest barrel i have used comparing to: kaner kit, redz kit, disruptive death touch kit, eigenbarrel .684, evil kit and angel slap stick but put on a stiffi tip and it quiets down a little. if you want to do a sound test use a loud gun such as ego 05 to stock DP g3, then make your conclusions.

If I recall correctly, Bob Long barrels are made by CP. Decent barrels but not the quietest by a long shot.

They carry a different sound signature than aluminum, it's a little snappier...

Agreed. Thinner, harder material creates that snappy sound signature.

I don't own an Ego5, or a G3. Make a video with the SM-3 kit, we'll compare our vids. Couldn't hurt...
