Copy the line in the OP for yourself, update it, and post back in here.

I've been wanting to play Assassin as DPS; but there is too much of a cool down on my ranged spells to do so well, without a lot of movement into and out of melee range. So I may be heading in the direction of tanking, but then I need to figure out how to do it with this toon.

I have ****ing atrocious luck then, my ship bot is terrible on missions.

angelballer = Fugacity (Sith Inquisitor, Sorcerer) + Ilitvez (Bounty Hunter, Powertech)
As far as tank versus DPS with an assassin, an assassin will never be a ranged DPS. A sorc is one of the best ranged DPS characters in the game so allowing an assassin to be good at it as well would be redundant. It would also be too easy with stealth IMO.
For PVP, I'd say stick with up close DPS and use mind control as much as possible to get protection medals. I'm DPS spec for my bounty hunter but always get 2-3 medals for guarding. There are several videos on YouTube showing an up-close DPS assassin being effective. For PVE, an assassin isn't bad from what I've seen at tanking. Once you get Andronikos (Tatooine), it should work pretty well solo'ing.

Send him on green missions. Yellow and orange are more likely to fail.

If only you were playing a Republic character, the droid would promise to exceed your expectations. God I hate that line every time you send him on a mission...

If you guys can't find anyone else and need help, I could probably lend a hand. I usually skip most of them so doing a couple would be fun.

My laptops graphics card sucks too bad for this game. fml. Looks like I'll either have to upgrade the card (which probably won't work) or save up for a new computer. I would build it myself. Looks like a month or 2 of no playing for me.

This game requires a good cpu and plenty of ram. I am playing with everything on high on a GTX 260 without any frame rate drops so that isn't as crucial. Ninja had posted similar results with actual numbers in the thread that was deleted.

I just have onboard graphics and put everything on low. Make sure you have trees and grass turned all the way off.

My server is pathetic. We have the highest population, and it's completely dominated by Empire.
The 50 bracket gets ****stomped by Republic, at least in warzones. It's ****ing insane. I have played maybe 50 matches since I hit 50, and I have won a total of two of them. The others have been lost by a large margin. The Republic usually crowds middle and passes the ball around to avoid making the last cap in Huttball.

Are you doing the heroics for the content? I thought Balmorra was 16-20 and Nar Shadaa was 20-24? Granted I hated Nar Shadaa but it'll probably be quicker to level there.

I'll look at the planet vendors to see if there is anything I want. If not, I'll do the same. Even then, the daily operations on fleet provide 4 or 6 commendations so I can get them that way as well. I'll do the bonuses for the class quests but skip the side missions. If I get burned out on PVP, I'll run a couple daily space missions.
