Need Core/Tricep Recommendations
My workout is a 5x5, moved up to every other day instead of 3 days a week because the 2 day break was killing me. Anyways, I haven't really worked out my core since I was a gym idiot and weighed 120lbs. I don't need the bull**** about working out abs won't give you a 6 pack, I just want to know what kind of core workouts you recommend. I am looking for 1 maybe 2 that you highly recommend and have seen results with.
Also, with triceps, I usually do laying tricep presses, but I'm not too keen on them as I find it hard to keep my upper arm straight. I am wondering also what kind of tricep workouts you think would be most effective.

For core squats are great. I occasionally do leg lifts laying on a bench if I feel like working abs.

I do squats every time I work out, but I feel I should be doing more in terms of core isolation, maybe I just packed on more body fat that I realized.

deadlifts usually hit my abs too.
But in terms of core isolation stuff, here's what I do:
-weighted crunches on decline bench. Hold plate BEHIND your head. 3x10.
-weighted russian twists on decline bench to hit the obliques and serattus anterior. Hold plate in front of you at arm's length. 2x15.
-leg raises, hanging from pull-up bar. 2 sets to failure.
For triceps, CGBP followed by skullcrushers. Afterwards, burn out with 2 sets of diamond push-ups to failure.

i know the page is lame, but i use the 90 degree thrusts, and goodmornings they rape your core, the thinkers are good too, EDIT Tris i do a super set with the ez bar, 8 skull crushers, the grab a DB 8 stand extensions, then 8 skull crushers again x3, and i really like close grip bench 3x10

I find bicycle kicks tear up my abdominals more than any other exercise I have found.

Knee Raises are great for abdominal excercises. I hang off the pullup bar, plus that way everyone gets to see how jacked and tan I am.

Its official, diamond push-ups own me, notably my previously broken arm that grinds at the joint when I do them. Early adulthood joint pain here I come! At least my triceps will be massive though.

I'm pretty sure that laying tricep presses are skull crushers.

haha, yeah you can have a huge pump going from your workout and feel great, and then diamond push-ups will make you feel like a *****. That's what they're there for.

For abs I do crunches with a 15lb medicine ball on a decline bench, hanging knee raises, incline bench leg raises, and this ab machine my gym has. For triceps I do pressdowns with both the rope and the metal. If you superset these its an amazing burn. Also try the behind-the-head extensions. I prefer to do mine with two hands

yea, for triceps, what the last poster said, over the head extensions with either a dumbell or a bar thats comfterable for you. abs, I used weighted situps (as long as you do them right). and try planks (uncle willys or whichever name you use for them) with weights on your back. Also for your obliques, try some side bends. btw. exrx.net use it.

Whats the dodgy for? Bicycle kicks are one of the most effective workouts for abdominals.
