You could set your sights higher than most evos with a built k20 and a 6262, I would imagine.

Anyone run a thicker oil in their car? My rings are worn and i smoke some, looking to try and run 40/50 weight and get one last event out of my car before rebuild.

Yeah same here.

I've been reading that cipher seats are pretty good. Reading some track reviews, DD comfort reviews, etc and a lot of people like them. Decent price too.

You can get evo x seats (recaros) for a decent price. Just takes some slight mods to the seat rails to get them to work.

Yeah I've seen them, not the biggest fan of them though. I wasn't very comfortable in them.

My APS TMIC gets shipped tomorrow. This officially ENDS all part procurement and starts the building phase. Short block should be delivered by thursday maybe friday at the latest. Then its another week of getting everything inspected, installed, dialed in, and tuned. Then comes the break in period

What is a break in like for throwing in a new short block? what do you think i'll have to do? No hard pulls? No boosting over 15PSI or something? Knowing John and what he did for my buddies car his first tune during break in was capped pretty well. He told him "if you behave we'll take unleash beast mode when you bring it in and it isnt broken" hahaha.

Break in.. Oh boy.

Your manual says go soft. The majority of car enthusiast forums seem to suggest a hard break in. The science behind both makes since.

I went with a semi hard in that, while I didn't go redlining it all the time, I did get on it a good bit and had some fun with it. The main thing is getting the seals nice and tight.

I'll stay out of it. Just putting out there what I did. I will say this. Other than a slight bucket tap we have from over lubing, the engine is performing perfectly.

I'd go with an APS tmic...but **** that's price. No way in hell would i pay that. Even second hand prices are insane.

I'm going GMS or whatever special Josh has going at the time.

Turbo, injectors, intake, and tune OR wheels, tires, coils, tint, and seats? Tough choice.

Which is more immediate? Which do you feel would make you more happy? Is most of your driving done on the interstate where suspension and handling doesn't matter much or is it mostly back road?

I know, after I go Stage 2, it'll be coils and fixing my ****ed suspension on one of my corners. Then it's finishing go fast.

Prices should be $500. Pretty standard fee. He's at P&L pretty often, so he should be able to cater somewhat to your scheduling

1000 miles. I generally like to keep the boost under 8-10psi or so. Like Ramp said, you just gotta get those seals nice and tight, and a little bit of boost helps that

Obviously don't beat the **** out of it, but don't baby it either. Give it some boost and rev it up a bit.

The whole debate on hard vs. soft break-ins is forever ongoing. My builder does hard break-ins on his race engines, but he does that knowing that he's going to be rebuilding that motor soon anyway

I dunno. My suspension is getting pretty squeaky. I guess we will see how the car is driving in a couple months.

Ok, that's what I was expecting. I thought the 93 tune was pretty solid, pulled hard, but the guy said he had Jr just throw it on so he could switch to 93 if he wasn't able to get e85, so he would have it redone. If I could schedule while I'm already in Il picking up the car, that would be fantastic.
