That sounds like a very good recommendation and it makes complete sense. It's worth a shot before ditching it.

The reason I had to send the grub screw out to have it drilled for a purge hole is because I live in an apartment, with no room for tools of any real form, and work in a call center and retail stores. I don't have access to the equipment to do anything that requires precision equipment.

It's not like you're tapping new threads, you're just chasing them a bit further. A hand tap and handle are cheap and take up about as much space as a DVD. I keep all of mine (everything from M3 barb threads up to 3/8"-24 alias timmy sleeve set screw threads) under my bed in a shoebox.

I've lived in several apartments....never had an issue with my extremely large amount of tools.

With the space I have, I've never bought them, and probably never will. Just too little utility for how little space I have (I already have to store all my cleaning supplies in the apartment because there's no room in the laundry room because that's where all my paintball equipment is stored).

If I do get a grub screw that's drilled and that doesn't fix it, I'm ditching it unless I can find someone local that can try retapping it. Not spending money on getting it working, it's surpassed my patience level and the few dollars that it would cost me for the shipping and screw is the absolute limit I'm willing to spend on this thing anymore. If that doesn't work, sell the 4b's, sell the gear drive, sell the CP v3, borrow a sledgehammer and smash the rest to let it know how much I appreciate it having never worked properly.

If you'd rather profit from patience I'd buy the rest from you before you smash it, if it came to that... hopefully the 4B & gear drive as well depending on how much $pare $ I have by then.

Yes, still have it, setting in my kitchen on the floor waiting for me to decide what to do with it.

I definitely would profit more from taking out anger on it.

Let's say you take a picture, print it out and decide to sell:
Sale $100-$120
Printed picture HQ -$5
Local range fee and gun rental -$60
box of 50 rounds (9mm-.45) -$25 (somewhat inflated range price)

You take out your anger, make me happy and still come out on top $10-$30

Wouldn't need the fee, I'm not a firearms guy, I like getting up close and personal with things. My favorite weapon is a morning star mace, followed closely by a normal mace, followed by a warhammer...

Or you could send me the rest of the gun and I'll fix it or pay you for it. I will run by HD this weekend and get the screw if you will give it a try.

AT one point I had like 6 gear drives, I think now I have the Quest and Shocker are the only 2 markers I still own that have macroline (assuming of course that payment arrives today for the PM8).

And payment has been sent for the PM8, so I'm pretty sure that officially the Shocker and Quest are my last 2 macrolined markers.

Anyone bothered with urethane orings on the Quest bolt and bolt pin? Any real-world advantages to be had with the slight reduction in friction? I'm betting it would help a bit in very cold weather.

Back when I lived somewhere that had cold weather (not here where "cold" is 50*), I never had issues with my various Quests. Properly lubed, they still did just fine.
