There is also a point at which starting a tournament just gets too late.
You never know with weather, especially this time of year (Chicago Open 2010, Chicago Open 2011, etc). It rained during a CTS couple years ago, but we played through (was more of a heavy drizzle, than a rain).

This man sums up my thoughts...
And to the captains that originally voted to play, then changed your mind (you know who you are).. child please.
I'd like to get the tourney in before PSP NJ, but we'll see what happens.
Thanks to Big Black, Nick Slowiack and the rest of the Badlandz staff for being there, setting up and being ready to play... too bad a few teams weren't.

DOOM ON YOU is a no go for next week. We live south of Indianapolis. It takes time to plan our events. We have police on our team who have their schedules put out a month at a time. Plus, other members have usual work weekends that they must request off a minimum of two weeks prior. Doom has participated in both prior events, and want the chance to do the entire series.

This is ridiculous. The event should have been played the day it was scheduled. Not only is this a problem now having to reschedule it, but when it is rescheduled there will be a much smaller turnout of teams. Personally I think its a little sad that a little rain stopped a majority of a league from playing it out and I think I speak for the 11 other teams that voted yes as well when I say that. In the future if this happens again I think a reasonable solution would be to play the event and if your team doesn't wanna play it, then don't play that day, and let the other teams grind it out. Just my thoughts.

Guys. They made a called based on chance. I believe it was the right call. 25 teams would have made for us being there until dark. Maybe not even completing it. LSD is ok to play it next weekend Or the Saturday when the nj layout is up. That would be a good warmup for nj

It's a tough call. We as captains have to make the best calls that we can with not only the series in mind, but our team and equipment also. The radar didn't show any sign of the weather clearing up anytime soon. Each captain voted for what they felt was best and it's unfortunate the weather did get better. What if we voted the other way and played and it went from bad to disastrous? Then we would still be discussing it, but from the other side of the spectrum.
I know it sucks, but it is what it is. Let's just focus and the next event......reschedule, refund or whatever happens.

Well obviously not everyone is going to be happy no matter what the decision. Sounds like we made the most people happy with the vote (barely). If we played but the weather got worse and had to continue next weekend then we'd be playing both weekends, some of the teams that wanted to play because they couldn't come back next weekend would be more upset because they played half of the event (random estimation) yesterday and missed the rest next weekend. That wouldn't make sense at all and would create an even bigger mess with people wanting partial refunds or whatever. Plus giant mud and water puddles and 100% of the players having electronic guns would make for a terrible time. Good decision IMO

there should probably be a few dates selected, then one representative from each team gets one vote on the date

I usualy dont agree with Bob very much some may say we agree to disagree. But he has valid points on everything. I know there were acouple teams around us that were talking about getting there guns and such drenched and what ever..... BUT!!!, What is done is done time to get the new date to play this thing !
