thanks for sharing ,
when you say you boil the pan on the stove is there a reason for this compared to others who normally just boil a kettle ?
if you test on a tray and its not dark enough would you then leave it in longer or would you add more dye ?
sorry for the Q's just want to be sure once the dye/spire arrive in the post

once again thanks and for any feedback

I had best luck with boiling water in a giant vat, then transferring it to a mop bucket in my utility sink (since it will get messy) Just transfer the water once I saw it was boiling. This provided sufficient heat for my dye to hold AND you don't really need to worry about melting anything from it sitting in a hot pan.

Maybe I just got lucky my first time, but I did this 3 different times to get my color combo and I didn't have any issues at all. Just mix in the LIQUID dye as soon as you pour in the piping hot water, then add your items.

So i know it's been years and all...but I want to dye my white spire hopper and was pointed to this thread but all the pics are not updated and working correctly (at least in my browser)

OP, do you have those pictures still somewhere? This is a great write up and with pictures should be even easier.

If no pictures, can someone point me in the direction of someone else who has done something similar to this?

lets get this thread off life support!

Thanks Guys,

Hey rcmj512 I didn't even know the pics weren't working anymore. It seems photobucket now wants $400 a year to do 3rd party hosting. I'm currently at work but I'll try to move the pics to another hosting service so I can post them again sometime tonight.

Thanks Guys,
Welcome to the ****-storm of post-Photobucket hosting. When they decided to change up their policy, they set off nukes everywhere across the globe of internet information.

Stupid Photobucket lol If it comes down to being to much hassle to upload to another site; message me and I will have you just email me them if that is easier.

Thanks again

Technically, not. Read their TOS. They actually don't allow 3rd party hosting either. In their TOS agreement, there is a section of DO NOTs:

Stuff not to do

If someone else might own the copyright to it, don't upload it. Don't upload gore, "hate speech" (i.e. demeaning race, gender, age, religious or sexual orientation, etc.), or material that is threatening, harassing, defamatory, or that encourages violence or crime. Don't upload illegal content such as child porn or nonconsensual ("revenge") porn. Don't hotlink to adult content or to file-sharing, gambling, torrent, warez, or Imgur rip-off sites. Don't impersonate someone else. Also, don't use Imgur to host image libraries you link to from elsewhere, content for your website, advertising, avatars, or anything else that turns us into your content delivery network. If you do – and we will be the judge – or if you do anything illegal, in addition to any other legal rights we may have, we will ban you along with the site you're hotlinking from, delete all your images, report you to the authorities if necessary, and prevent you from viewing any images hosted on Imgur.com. We mean it.

So.......basically, can't 3rd party host with them either. I've started the process of moving and re-linking everything to Google Photos albums then using a Google URL shortener so the URLs are manageable on forums.

Oh wow. I do not see the point of them having all of the link options then...

I may just delete my account then. I do not think I have much on there other than linking to here or eBay to sell paintball gear.
