So took a PM5 to the local field today. Had only been using the rented tippman they have there. Guns works well first game then starts to chop balls then jams.

I check I have a ball stuck at the tip and one stuck at the drop from the hopper. Take it apart balls start falling out of my vmax hopper lol. Get the balls out squeegee everything. Run another game works ok then does it again then balls fall when I have the barrel down.

So not sure if I'm just a noob or maybe my barrel isn't the right size. It is a proto barrel and I was shooting Valken Fate.

Any ideas off hand would be great I am a noob first elec gun.

Nevermind for now. Realize it's not the stock board no clue what the settings were at so just put it back to default. Gonna test that first n see what's up.

If you're having issues with chopping and balls rolling out of your gun then it's very likely you need new ball detents. In an open bolt design like that used in a Matrix, the detents are what keep the paint inside the gun, not the barrel.

If you don't have an extra set of the stock detents available to you then I recommend buying these. I use them in both my PM5 and PM7 and they work great.

Nope I don't have any stock ones bought the gun didnt come with any extras here. So if all I need are some ball detents that doesn't seem too bad lol

Bad ball detents will cause you to feed multiple balls into the breech and barrel at once. If that happens it's never good lol.

You may also have your LPR too low and it's not cycling 100% every time. My guess is ball detents though.

Yeah it was not good got a good laugh at the field though. Just bought some ball detents so I'm gonna replace those when they arrive and test it out and see how it runs.

One way to test if your detents are working is to take your barrel off......then fire paint slowly without a barrel into the ground. If you see balls dropping out, part way or all the way, between trigger pulls then there's a problem.

Or put a paintball in and see if it rolls out...
